I'm trying to play a shop bought DVD on my PC but it won't play.

It's an original DVD. Windows media player would'nt play it and neither would VLC media player. I tried it in both my CDRW drive and the DVD ROM drive with no luck.

Anyone know how I can get it to play?

I want to be able to take screen captures and also be able to capture the film into movie editing packages (Adobe premiere Pro).

Many thanks.

You most likeley don't have the software necessary to play dvd movies on your computer. Look around for powerdvd or winddvd or something like that

Vegas 6.0 with DVD Archetect 2.0 is excellent software.

In my NLE studio I have 3 pc's all with Canopus hardware. I switched off of Premiere to EDIUS 3.0 which can be used without hardware and it works great solid program lot more effects than premiere offers.

As far as NLE's i know and use, Avid xpress HD, Vegas 6, FCFhd, DVD Arch(as I am not a fan of the Encore I have @ work) Audition 1.5, Edius 3.0, Photoshop CS2.

I unfortunately for a corporate project I work on for United Airlines, US Airways, FinAir, Tap Air Portugal, Olympic Airways,Air Lingus and like 8 other airliners. All the work was started In Premiere 6.5 but when I came onboard I migrated all the files to Pro 1.5. So for my corporate editing I use Pro 1.5.

If either of you can use 2 monitors at the same time off your pc's I suggest you do so. The real Estate especially for Edius, Avid and Pro 1.5 is incredible.
