Also, a follow up question to whoever you pick - where do they stack up with the all time great teams and dynasties?

It's hard for me to say any team from the salary cap era could rank as an all-time great team.

I don't think any of them stack up to the early '90s Cowboys. Incredible offense with Aikman, Smith and Irvin. Not to mention Novacheck at TE and an absolutely sick o-line.

then Defensively they had Haley, Leon Lett, Ken Norton and Deion Sanders.

Teams these days can't afford that kind of talet at every postition.

but isn't that even MORE of an argument that these are great, great teams? Making due with what they can afford, playing hurt or not, finding ways to win?

not to me. I think of it as if you lined them up agaisnt each other who would win. I think those Cowboys teams would handle these Patriots teams quite handily, I think they'd have a more difficult time with the Colts, but Deion would shut Marvin almost completely down. He was nothing short of incredible in his Prime.

True, hell he's still a very dangerous Nickleback.

But okay - take it this way, record book wise what's the more impressive feat? The whole dynasty thing - or the undefeated season and the superbowl a year after setting all kinds of offensive records?

I agree with Oliver on the Cowboy's. But if the Patriots were to come back and win the Super Bowl this season, I think that would put the stamp on them as being one of the all-time great dynasties.

The Pats winning three out of four is more impressive, but if the Colts go undefeated people will remember 19-0 more than they will 3 out of 4 in the long run.

Yeah, but the Pat's had a crazy streak going too when you think about it.

they sure did, but they never went undefeated for a whole season, and there's something about ...and O that people love. And that's why it will be remembered. the 72 Dolphins would've been slaughtered by alot of other teams, but they are remembered because they were 17-0.

Yeah exactly, you had to think about it. People don't like to think, it hurts.

It's easier to chant. "19-0, 19-0, 19-0....RRRRRRRAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH"

IMO Pats rank amoungst the greats, if the Colts can continue their form they can also be considered amoungst the elite. One season, no matter how pwnerific makes you one of the best. It's all about consintancy, saying this they've been a perenial playoff team for many years.

Shit... Denver's back-to-back Super Bowl teams would've given the Pats teams a beatdown.

But the pats have won 3 superbowls, I dont see many teams giving them a beatdown. Maybe this years pats with all the injuries theyve had, but any of the superbowl Pats teams are amongst the all time best.

The 11-5 Pats team that beat the Rams in the SB was probably the worst team to ever win the Super Bowl. That was the first year the salary cap really wrecked the league. I look at that season as the original "parity pwnz" NFL season.

this is incorrect. head to head last year's Pats would lose to a lot of teams from the late 80's early '90s.

The Cowboys of the 90s greatest of all time
I would put the Patriots at number 2 unless they win it all this year then I would have to put them at 1
Steelers 70,s would be third

It's hard to judge these teams when put against the Buffalo Bills of the 90's. America's Team.
