View Full Version : K-1 GP Seoul
anyone here actually looking forward to this? the tournament itsself i see as nothing but a gimmick tourney where theyd like to pit Kaoklai against one of the big guys in the finals. the superfights though look very promising where we will probly see a good KO from Remy or see Mercer take a bunch of punishment to a decision like vs Musashi. Aerts vs Williams though caught my eye. this fight could very well be a barn burner if Williams can get back on track. he has had a nice slide as of late but a win over Aerts would propell him back to where he was in the picture of the GP. anybody have any thoughts on this? Is Aerts too old to compete against the top comp or was his injury a fluke? i guess we will find out soon enough.

I think Aerts might have a chip on his shoulder after what happened at the GP. I think he is goinjg to KO Williams just to show he is still a force. And it makes me sadc to see Ray Mercer reduced to this. He was a great heavyweight with an iron chin who didnt get too many shots at glory because he was too dangerous. As for the "tourney" Im sure K1 is praying Akebono beats Kakuda and the giant Korean wrestler wins so they can meet up. I dont see how Kaoklai doesnt take it
i only see kaoklai dodging and lowkicking his way to a decision. im not sure how kick he can jumpkick. im pretty sure it isnt as high as Choi. akebono is iffy but i doubt that too. will be interesting to see if one of the big guys can land a blow if it goes down like that.

For the most part, I just wanna see Williams - Aerts, for the rest .. circus show is perhaps fitting?

I am eagerly waiting for this actually. SImply because I want to see how that Giant does. Why I am so fascinated, I do not know.

That's the factor K-1 is hoping for it seems, by putting a lot of freaks together ... I hope what has happened in K-1 MMA doesn't spill too much over into the kickboxing part of it.

UNfortunately thats the only angle k1 really has a chance and getting viewers. Other than enormous Koreans they have nothing to offer viewers.

Horrific show. A slap in the face to K-1 fans that they show this garbage on PPV. Williams-Aerts is the only fight worth a shit.
BTW - Williams via JD/TKO
