I am putting this in Training Camp as you guys are used to dealing with injuries. Last week, I fell down a flight of concrete stairs and landed on the last stair's edge, injuring my leg just below the knee. After a few minutes of convincing my really concerned boss and campus police that I was okay and needed to make it Giant to get milk before picking up the kids, I left and walked to my car. Yeah, it hurt, but I had a lot to do. By the time I left the grocery store, between my knee and mid leg had swollen up to the size of a softball. I iced it that night. My boss took me to the doctor the next day - the leg was x-rayed (negative), but the doctor said I may have bruised the bone and the bruise was likely to spread down my leg to the ankle. It has.

She said to use moist heat to reduce the bruising. I do this when I can, but wet washclothes are hard to take to work. Since you guys train, I assume you get injuried. Do any of you have any additional hints or recommendations of getting my leg back to normal more quickly. We are going to Florida at the end of the month and I don't want to have to wear jeans the whole time. (Vanity, thy name is woman!!!)

Thanks a lot guys!!!

April had the same thing wrong with her, only she injured her arm lifting weights. She slightly tore a muscle and it bled all the way down her arm, which caused it to swell. We took her to the doctor and they told her to do the whole RICE thing (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). They also prescribed her Motrin and within a week she was fine. Sounds like you really f'ed yourself in the a, though. Hope everything works out for you.

Yeah just take it easy and take some anti inflalmmatories, other than that not much you can do.

rachel just say there word and the pun will be on the next flight over to nurse you back to health and give you deep tissue messages.

drink lots of orange juice; or be me. I get tons of bruises and drink lots of the oj. When I get the bruises they only last a day, two at most. If it is any more serious that just a bruise which it sounds like it is RICE and booze (it thins the blood... plus it takes away the pain:D)

Cut your leg off just above the knee. Then eat it.

It will grow back, however it will be an infants leg. And will probably take 15 years to mature.

Take a minute to weigh the pros and cons here.

In all seriousness, ice and heat, alternate them. If you can stay off it, do so, otherwise time should heal it up.
