I pulled 285 deadlift today at school and could of easily done way more. At my home I only have 175lbs in weight and really haven't did weight lifting as I've been more focused on eating properly. So that's good for me, I'd say. So I did a few reps and the bell rang so I had to put the shit away. No worries, I thought I'd be able to see how much I could pull in my PAL (Physical active lifestyles) class. So yeah, I thought I'd be able to find out, WRONG! My great teacher says I can't do that he doesn't want the weight to bang. He proceeds to empty the weights off of it and try and teach girls how to use the weight equipment as if they didn't already fucking know. Plus theres a guy in my class whose workout is: Curl, Bench, Shrugs. And then, CABLE CURLS! He walks around giving advice on how to get big. I feel that it is my duty for all that is right to pick up a barbell and drive it through his pure bench pressing heart.

Also, my PAL teacher tries to insult kids by asking them "What do you train at? What do you bench?"

But yeah, I pulled 285 at lunch time today. Yay.

Congrats on the new PR, sounds like you could have hit some higher numbers too. Get back in there next week and give it a go.

As far as the guy working out his beach muscles and dishing out advice ... let him. Unfortunately since he looks 'buff' everyone will listen to his advice no matter what you have to say. I learned a long time ago its best to just keep your mouth shut and go about your work out. Arguing with people in the gym just makes your workouts take too long.

As far as the teacher not letting you deadlift ... that's bullshit, but that's life. You'll get the same thing in most commercial gyms, if the weights clank its like you are shooting each person in the head, god forbid they hear the noise of weights over the pop music they have playing!

Stick to it and keep us posted. And there is plenty that you can be doing at home with that 175lbs. Not to mention you can get a 300lb weight set for about $100.

Good job man. There's hope for you yet.

Also, since my deadlift work out got shot to shit by my teacher, I went to the machines and hit a 305 or something deadlift and a 200 bench. Free weights would be a totally different story since I haven't benched since this time last year. I would of gone to the dumbbells but 80% of the class was curling thanks to that tub of shit.

You should challenge Bench-and-Curl Boy to a Zhoo Zhitsoo match.

Then we'll see who's advice they'll be taking.

The only thing I could probably pull off would be an armbar or a rear naked choke...or a heelhook since I have 0 training in anything like that. I'd prefer to hit his chin once or twice before taking him down.

Well then, may I suggest that you work on your grappling skill just as feverishly as you are with your lifting?

It could be quite the benefit.

Thank you sir. The guy is a complete joke, I wish I could tape record some of the shit he says.

You should, and then post it on here so that we can all ridicule him.
