Anyone competing in this? It's coming up very shortly on March 11th and 12th. I might be going, not to compete (since I tore my ACL), but to watch. *sigh*

If anyone wants to roll a little bit though, PM me.

Also, on 4/29/06, there's a local reality fighting MMA show. I'm definitely going. Hope to bring back pics also..

My lackadaisical nature will probably lead me to sit at home and play video games instead of competing on that day.

I've got the Hawaiian BJJ Championship on the 11th. I'm gonna roll in the NAGA once my knee is a little stronger, since that place is leg-lock city. I have a ton of shitty, NAGA-only moves that I'm dying to pull in competition.

How good is NAGA reffing?

How good is NAGA reffing?

Just depends on the event, I suppose. In Hawaii, my old coaches, the Onzuka brothers, pretty much ref every event. They're incredibly unbiased. I've seen them take a split decision at Shooto from one of their students (the non-Onzuka judge gave it to him, both Onzukas rightly gave it to the other guy).

There are so many opportunities to finish in NAGA, though, so judging is the last thing I'm worried about. If you're going to the NAGA, train your leg locks and neck cranks, or at least your defenses for them.

Maryland. I'm elgigante's neighbor.

It's pretty good, usually. The only problems that I see in NAGA are sandbagging (which happens everywhere) and the lack of warning/room before your match.
