What icon are you clicking to start the thing? Try navigating into the MSN folder and start the msn messenger exe file, that shouldn't have fucked up shortcuts.

Yeah, I read it but I'm not using an icon. I just click start and then I go up to MSN messenger 7.0 and click it. As for trying to open it some other way, keep in mind that I'm completely useless... :(
