Jun 24 Mariner first baseman Richie Sexson was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount on Friday. The punishment is for an incident during Saturday's game against the Met where he tossed a bucket of balls onto the field in front of the Mariners' dugout. He will begin serving his suspension on Friday night.

Views: Those in daily leagues should get Sexson out of their lineup until Sunday. Since he is not appealing the suspension, those in weekly leagues should keep him active next period.

i am thoroughly disappointed with my first base situation. at the beginning of the season i thought 1b was easily my strongest position, but then helton and thome both decided to suck ass. not to mention the huge disappointments that hudson, huff and berkman have been.

im having 3b issues now that Mora is out with a strained hammie. also JD Drew had a hurt knee but it seems he will be coming back without going on the DL. Sexson will be suspended sometime soon when they deny his appeal and tell him to fuck off.

I was hurting at this position with Barmes out for a very long time and then Guillen going down. I had to get 2 players from free agency. I dropped Spivey and kept Hall....I just need Guillen to hit his average and I should be getting points in that department now

Well, they where supposed to take the division and have a shot at the Series...then Bonds' knee exploded, Benitez's hamstring exploded, the starting pitching decided to under-achieve like no one's business, the bullpen decided to suck major ass for the 1st half of the season, and now the offense has decided to take a vacation since the bullpen and pitching are coming back.


Other than that though...they're tops.

no doubt, but i mean, somebody still has to be the best of the worst. its funny how the NL west was one of the strongest divisions. i think it was 2 or 3 years ago the dodgers or some shit won 92 games but missed cuz the dbacks won the division and the giants took the wildcard. now the division is complete shit. i thought at first the Pedros maybe got better, but the Giants, and LA just got worse. DBacks had their fallout last year and improved not much above them. bottom line all 5 teams suck. i just hope whoever wins it has at least a .500 record.

It's weird...the guy's the Giant's picked up, Vizquel(this guy rules), Alou and Matheny, have consistently been the best performing players, while the guy's that have been here for years are playing like absolute shit.


I mean, I know having Bonds out of the line-up makes it tougher on the entire offense, and having Benitez go down early in the season leaving them without a closer are big hits to take...but damn, they really fucking suck this year. Bonds should take this year off to heal and come back strong next season, maybe the Giants will pull their heads out of their asses by then and start playing like they give a shit.

they definetly need the giant head in their lineup to do well, IMO. no matter how much i dislike him, he does bring alot to the team. losing him and the closer pretty much sealed your fate. no bonds = little runs scored. no closer makes it hard to win those kind of games.

the offense was doing well untill the last week or two, just the pitching sucked so they scored 4 or 5 runs but still lost, now the pitching is better, and they aren't scoring as much...I think they where like 3rd in the league in runs per game and where good with RISP, they just fell off recently.



As I type this they just came back to tie the game at 4-4 in the 8th inning. Meh.

Alou was definately brought in for insurance and protection for Bonds. Bonds would have still walked alot, but Alou's RBI's right now would be alot more, easily. I'm an avid Giants fan and I'm pissed that I have to hear every game of theirs on ESPN radio here. they are always down and doing something stupid.

here's looking to next year and for the return of a much thinner Bonds who will still get 40+ HR's

yeah the offense was working, but not as well as it would have been. which would have compensated for the shitty pitching to an extent. the no closer thing works both ways. i worded it wrong. when you cant close out 1 run or 2 run games, it fuckin sucks. those sometimes contribute to alot of wins. a ton of the nationals wins were 1 run games. now they have had the reversal of fortune and are losing them. their offense has went to complete shit as well.

Damn, that was a close one. You basically dominated the offense while I took all the pitching stats. What it came down to really was batting average and home runs. Those were two that I actually had a chance of winning. The funniest one was steals with you winning 20-1. What ever happened to the days when Ichiro used to steal bases? Anyways great job man, it was good to go up against a worthy competitor. Reps. And I hope next time people take it a little more seriously and actually set their rosters and replace injured players and all of that.

i had 2 of the monsters in base stealing, in Juan Pierre and Jose Reyes. i dont think anybody beat me in steals this year. its funny because my offense wasnt always on key. i had a great first week of the series but then my team really calmed down the second week. it was the strong final 2 days that kept it for me. once you took the point for saves i began to worry.
