I dont know, I have a feeling about they might do a TUF Mexico, or TUF hispanics or something.

Or, Dana said they would do that, if they are gonan do a special TUF show for that or use 1 season to do that, I dont know...

If they have REAL balls they will film TUF 5 in Japan. They probably DO have the balls to do that too.

Nah, they know they can't push Japanese fighters. I don't think the general audience would accept it.

Not the American audience, but there's a lot of Yen in Japanese MMA.

Well then would it really be TUF 5 for them? And would it be marketed as such?

I think it would be interesting to see Brazilians and Japanese and Russians and everyone included in like an international TUF. That would be a lot of fun to watch, and I think it'd go over. Everyone loves the subtitles on Ross...

Maybe Nacho Libre will help prepare us for that.;)

First-post-Nachownage.

Also (SPOILERS!), I hear this installation of TUF will consist of third-rate fighters from Rumble on the Reservation, college wrestlers with no MMA experience, and east coast BJJ "black belts" who can't work guard for longer than 7 seconds. Shhhh... it's a secret.

they should stop with all the take backs and have alternates.

per MMAWeekly:

-First Coach: Jens Pulver

-Probable Second Coach: BJ Penn

-Rumored Format: Sixteen Lightweight (155-pound) fighters, with eight of them being UFC veterans and the other eight being UFC newcomers

Season premiere date on Spike TV: Early 2007

I'm guessing the amount of LW on tomorrows card will help give them the "veteran" label.

You know, Penn getting the WW belt could fuck this up.

Well at least fuck up the LW vs LW angle they're trying to go for.

If Penn wins the WW belt, the UFC should just have the winner of Florian/Sherk to coach and fight Pulver at the end.

You know, I posted an article earlier that mentioned TUF5 and the weight class.

http://www.bloodyknux.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20637

It mentions that it's all lightweights.

I heard that Yves declined to be part of TUF 5 so thats reinforces the LW rumor.

I'd imagine Pulver doesn't get this shot any more after that loss, right? Anyone know what the status would/could be now, or if it would've changed at all due to Pulver's loss in under a minute from an unknown?

Post # 14 implies that the fighters would be lightweights. Maybe after tonight, BJ cuts 10 pounds and re-matches Pulver @ 155 lbs...loser leaves the UFC. The winner fights the winner of TUF 5 and is one his way back into contention @ 155. I can see BJ beating Sherk (when he beats KenFlo) easy.

I've never really 'seen' why Penn is so great. Him losing to GSP & Hughes just convinces me he ain't shit. Disagree if you will it's just what I think.

the key words here are first rounds.

no 'great' fighters are only great for one round.

Right, he looked good early, but looked like shit when it mattered, i'd still say Hughes is the better fighter than Penn right now, and that GSP is also better than Penn right now. People are overly excited about Penns potential and the fact that he beat Hughes once upon a time. Anyway, I cant believe they'd put a guy as talented as Yves on TUF, that just doesn't make sense imo.
