It looked like the guy way trying to go for the ball instead of throwing a deliberate punch. Anyway, the fan was wrong for interfering with the play.

Man, I've watched it over and over, and there was no way he was going for the ball... it wasn't a punch, but it was an A-Rod style bitch slap, and Shef showed great restraint to not lay the prick out.
