View Full Version : Jason "Mayhem" Miller
I know he was dominated by St. Pierre but watching how he moved on the ground I could tell the guys has some slick ground skills. Plus, St. Pierre has made everyone he's fought in the UFC look bad including Hughes up until he got armbarred.
It got me to thinking what would match ups between Miller and Nick Diaz look like? Or a match against Karo? Those would be fuckin ground wars. I hope Miller is brought back and is thrown in there against another ground wiz.
Thoughts anyone?

I liked Miller, thought he looked pretty good in there even against such a superior fighter, maybe he should think about dropping weight or if not he has a hell of alot of work if he wants to be able to hang with the top guys in his division.

Miller has Retard Strength.
I for one am not suprised that Miller and the words retard are mentioned in the same sentence, regardless of what it's describing.
LOL, retard strength. I couldn't believe Rogan acknowledged Laimon saying that. That was potentially the biggest stage the UFC has ever been on (ppv wise) and Rogan reiterates "retard strength". I didn't take offense to it nor did most of the regular UFC fans familiar with Rogans commentating but what about the new fans? That wasn't too classy a move on the part of Rogan. Good thing the fights overshadowed Rogan's commentating.

Laimon as in the grappling coach from TUF..?
Yeah, that was him. Miller trains at Laimon's Cobra Kai school.

Miller has a great ground game and a great attitude. It would be cool to see him vs Nick Diaz

i pick miller by jd in the least.
miller went balls deep for 15 mins and still looked preet fresh.. boys got a great tank.
nick diaz and karo got shitty tanks..by rd 2 they are drained.
Miller will be a guy like Serra when @ 155. Great tank to keep on pushing and takes fighters in late rounds.

Not only did he look good after the 15 minutes but he had taken a bit of a beating also, he wasn't subbed and make a great escape from the armbar attempt, I wish I could remeber more of the fight but I just can't at the moment, need to watch it over again.

yes he showed great heart and determination.
i think he is more resiliant that diaz and karo are.
they both seem to "give up" as they are getting beat up.. especially Karo.
Yeah, despite getting the shit beat outta him, he was still rockin that goofy-ass grin of his.

you could tell he had major nerves when he went in the cage waiting for the bell.
but he showed a lot and he is gaining a lot of buzz that he has worked for.
should he stay @170 where he looks thin for the group? there in lies a good question.

I like Miller. Great fighter and entertainer, though For some reason in his interview he reminded me alot of Eminem.

He should drop weight imo, he looks small, and he was outclassed by St. Pierre. Hw would probably be manhandled by Hughes if he ever got close to a shot at the title, I don't give a fuck how 'retarded' his strength is Hughes would rape his ass. I'm not saying he couldn't beat anyone at that weight but if he ever wants to make a real name for himself and get winning streak on the go then maybe he should think about cutting and taking a few matches in the lower weight division. He is still only young and has a lot to learn but he seems to possess many of the requirements to be a great fighter and he can obviously only get better. He should be proud of his performance.

I haven't seen any off his full fights, but I have seen some highlights of his. He pretty much destoryed everyone in Superbrawl that they put in front of him. They used to show commercials in Hawaii that called Miller "The Most Dangerous Haole since Captain Cook" or something along those lines.

What is the lbs for the lightweight division? Are the UFC considering introducing anything at 155? I thought I heard they were but not sure if i'm wrong.
yeah, just about everyone i watched it with agreed that miller had serious potential, he just had to go against st. pierre, who is the fucking man. the only guys in the division that i don't think he has a good chance of beating is st. pierre (obviously), hughes, and trigg (who, on a slightly off topic note, i REALLY want to see fight st. pierre).
another slightly off topic, slightly on topic note - ufc is fucking stacked at 170.

if they'd get their act together, they could be really stacked at 155 too.

Trigg and Pierre would be a good fight to see, the question is do you see it before or after the Pierre / Hughes fight, which inevitably has to happen. I would be rooting for the French-Canadian after Trigg cheapshoted Hughes, you just knew that Hughes was going to kill him after those unprotected shots to the chin. It was great seeing him slammed to the mat and I bet the only reason Hughes choked him out again is because of the nut shot lol.

At the same time that's nothing but good news. Anyone know anything about an possible opponents for Edwards when he goes over to Japan?

anyone and everyone.
expect them to put him vs kajiwara if anything when he gets there since the current shooto champ was th elast guy to beat yves I believe.
Yves will do very good in the LW Grand Prix. He's got great takedown defense and is quite possibly the best striker in the tourney.

interesting to see him in a ring again.
also how will be fair vs Gomi?
fair against kajiwara?
and some others although Yves is my fav to take it all. with Gomi in a close second.
Yves' reach gives him a huge advantage and the fact I saw him escape sub after sub vs hermes in the cage and in a ring shows me how good his sub defense is.
Gomi and Kawajira are gonna have a helluva time taking Yves down. They're gonna eat some serious leather doing it. If Franca couldn't sub Yves, I doubt Gomi or Kawajira will be able to pull it off. They are gonna have to take Yves down, hold him there, and pound out a decision or a tko.
Whatever happens though, I like Yves chances.

Yves is without a doubt the UFC's brightest and biggest chance in winning ANY GP PRIDE has to offer.
