that babalu av is inspiring, JJT... unfortunately I'm stuck in av limbo for a month, and will have to wait to work on my "Vernon Tiger White-O is the greatest fighter of all time" av.

I want Arona to win the whole thing, think he had real bad luck agaisnst Rampage and definately should of won that fight, hope he doesn't find himself up against Igor or Silva at any point because he will probably get knocked the fuck out if he keeps sticking his chin out like he's asking to be hit, but saying that he hasn;t done too bad so far.

It would also be nice to see Sak win before he retires, the chances of this are remote, I know, but it does look like he has an easy path into the second round, so who knows how much he has left in the tank, it's obviously going to be important with the results in the first round, but Silva could be gone as Yoshida is not an easy fight for him.

I still think Randleman could be a dark horse, I know not many people agree with me on this, but I think it will be interesting to see how he performs. I hope Belfort gets sent home early and Rua manages to make it to the finals. In fact it's hard to pick and make decisions with so many decent fighters in the GP. Can't wait until Saturday.

Apparently Kevin Randleman, Rampage, Dan Henderson, and Dean Lister all arrived today in Japan.

It's easier, imo, to predict who won't win then who will. Rampage, Sak, Arona and Overeem will not win. The others, they all have some shot, serious or not, to take it.

JTT you just said that Lister, Sik, Randleman, Yoshida, and Nakamura have a chance to win the GP?!
Granted anything could happen in any fight, but I think all of those guys are real long shots. Also I think Arona and Rampage have realistic chances of winning, you can't just count them out! Arona has 2 losses on his career: Rampage's controversial win and Fedor. That's it!
I would say its easier to say who is more likely to pull it off. My list includes: Silva, Arona, Rampage, Henderson, and last, but not least Igor. I think there is a very high chance that those names will be in the final 4.

On a side note here is the fight order for the event:

Kevin Randleman (USA) vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura (Japan)

Dean Lister (USA) vs. Ricardo Arona (Brazil)

Igor Vovchanchyn (Ukraine) vs. Yuki Kondo (Japan)

Vitor Belfort (Brazil) vs. Alistair Overeem (Holland)

Dan Henderson (USA) vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (Brazil)

Kazushi Sakuraba (Japan) vs. Yoon Dong Sik (Korea)

Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson (USA) vs. Mauricio ?Shogun? Rua (Brazil)

Wanderlei Silva (Brazil) vs. Hidehiko Yoshida (Japan)

This is going to be great. I can't wait. I agree with JTT you can't pick a winner but can say who won't win. My list of non-winners are...

Yoshida
Sakuraba
Sik
Overeem
Kondo
Nakamura

Everybody else has a chance if you ask me.

i cant say "who wont win". this whole thing is based on matchups, not brackets. anyboody could get favorable matchups and move further up that way. so its a lil hard to say. obviously the favorites to win has to be Silva and Jackson, due to them being in the finals last GP, and arguable still the two best MW in PRIDE. personally i would love to see Igor, or Randleman to win it, with Igor having the more realistic shot.

Rampage with shaved head is a good sign. I think that KO took the life out of him, more so than finding God (not that finding God is a bad thing, but for an MMA fighter...). I hope he snaps back.
