here is the situation:
a stalling tactic. opponent has you in side mount. is laying on you chest to chest. one arm is hooked under your leg the other arm is streched out to counter being rolled.
How is the hell do I get out of this.

Push him away to get space, then try and snake to get your spare leg towards his legs and back into half guard, then into full guard?
Then try and sweep, submit or scramble from there, not sure really i'm only a mere newbie to this.

depends on your strengths and weakness, best bet would be dont get in it in the first place, although that is not always an option. Myself being a striker I would try to through him off by swing hard and making him worry about protecting himself, if he takes the bait you should have some extra room to move around and if he doesnt you might beable to knock him out. If power isnt your strong point try speed, rapid punches to the body and head mix them up to really make him scramble to protect himself. It is like a chess match. You cant plan to far ahead cause you really dont know exactly what your op. is gonna do.
Sidemount is hard to escape against someone of equal of better skill. I suggest bucking and rolling like a mo fo

I don't know if I can picture this clearly, but I will try to answer you. Try to make some space between you and your opponent..you could try to use your hips to make space, or use your forearm to crossface him and make him give you space. Try not to really muscle it, but in some cases you will have to. When you get some space, try to get him in your guard. Even if you can only get a half guard, at least it is better then the side mount. From the half guard, just work up into a guard, so you can go for a submission or sweep. Or you could try to buck him off you...if you done Wrestling before, you'll understand, but most of the time if he is a good grappler it will be hard.

didnt you read my original post?
If you told me what your strong and weak points are I might be able to help better.
If you are a striker, punch your way out as best as you can
other then that I would go with what WerstlerN said, flop around like a dead fish and try to get your hips and feet in a position where you have leverage.
Try it out with your sparing partner or just a buddy who wont do something stupid and hurt you or himself.

You guys should really lift more.
It's just a drill for ground fighting. guy has just passed your guard and is resting. holding onto leg and sprawled out to avoid getting rolled. Yes elbowing to the back till he moves is a choice but I was looking for a none striking way to get out of/better my pos. So far flopping around like a fish gets me into guard about 1/2 the time.
You guys should really lift more.
I thought I looked buff?
If you can't do anything, give him an obvious armbar and see if he bites. Most people will.
the drill is to try and get out. Top guy simulates resting and just laying on top. You have 10-20 seconds to better your pos or get out.

Would it be possible to sit up a bit, get an underhook around his neck and use that to rotate your hips under?

putting his arm between your legs is a no no. if you raise your leg over his head you can triangle him in this position.
also, if your head is not secured with his arm, then you can roll to your stomach. just secure his posting arm and roll with it.

with your right leg, kick his leg straight while at the sametime you reach under your leg and grab his wrist. IF youre holding his wrist tight kicking one of his legs straight back will really throw him off balace. Of course you have to be kinda flexible to do so but you could even sweep from that position if you can rise your knee under his body.

Nothings stopping your right leg (the unhooked one) from hooking his right leg to get back into half guard. So snake your hips away from him and try that. Like uber said if his arm is between your legs still you can try a triangle from there.
Other wise just buck and push away from him to the max

This is simple.
Use your right leg and kick to the side, move your whole body and face towards him grabbing an arm or his head for leverage.
In the commotion extend your left leg because now his arm is bent and your leg is far stronger then his single arm that is now lacking leverage.
Move to the TK guard as fast as possible and work from there.
Thanks gentlemen I played with this last night and worked out a few thing. CHEERS
