Put em here folks. All profiles remain locked. They are just reference tools and those threads shall remain as such.

This would be a bit involved, but how about a history of the titles? I'd, for one, am a mark for history, and would like to see how individual belts got from one waist to another... if that's to involved, How about an general history of boxing from the start of the 20th century on?

this is a good idea, but with the alphabet soup titles it might be hard to do.

Great job on the profiles, elgig.

I'd like to request a few, when you can get around to it. Sugar Ray Leonard, Carlos Monzon, and ever since the Legendary nights I've wanted to know alot more about Meldrick Taylor.

Drew you can do one on whomever you like man. Some of the older guys especially would be nice as a lot of folks here dont really have a tremendous historical knowledge of the sport. Very glad to have you aboard

Great job man. I figured youd be able to do a good job since you gave me a good synopsis of him back before I checked out the majority of his fights. Plus you really have an appreciation of his technical skills that others overlook when just discussing his glass chin.

I'll be banging out an Evander Holyfield profile in the very near future, so keep an eye out guys. If you want something of a sneak preview, check out http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=243165

It's a little thing I put together in what I hope to be an ongoing series of fight and fighter reviews called The Essentials. A bit long, so you may have to read in parts.

Nec, take a look at some of my bios, if you have an idea of one of the fighters that you'd like me to expand upon and do an essential, let me know.

Honestly, this is open to anybody that wants to take part in it..on any fighter. I picked Holyfield because he's my favorite fighter of all time, and I'm most familiar with his body of work and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to say going into it. I'm interested to see who people work up and what fights they pick outside of the obvious stuff.

Example - with Hagler, you know there's going to be Hearns and probably Leonard, but what about the other three or four fights?

Tyson - Sure, there's the ear biting against Evander, but what else makes it?

Hopkins - Everybody knows about the win against Tito, but how do you pick something out of his resume to define him for someone like me that hates him? 8D

Foreman - How do you eliminate stuff from his first and second careers? Which of those define him best? Ali? Lyle? Frazier? Holyfield? Moorer?

If there's a fighter or three that you feel comfortable in working up on an Essentials, go for it. I'm still debating on who I want to tackle after Holyfield, so don't worry about stepping on my toes with anything. I trust your judgment to do something cool.

With Hagler, I would imagine big name Duran would go in there, Anterfermo, and probably Mugabi make the list.

With Foreman, Frazier fights are a must Ali, obviously and probably Moorer.

John Ruiz- most underrated fighter of the past 10 years. The only thing he knows how to do is win.

Since 1997, when he became a prominent figure in the heavyweight division, he's lost twice, both in questionable decisions. Once to Evander and the other to Jones Jr. John was also screwed in the third Evander fight when it was declared a draw.

Did you just say Jones-Ruiz was a questionable decision? I'm gonna throw up now.

Great idea with the up and comers thread Gigante, great job as always. I am keeping an eye on Jason Litzau who is 14-0 with 14 KOs. He is a super FW and has the offensive goods for sure.
