Shit, I think about you every time I watch an episode of "The Wire" on HBO, Horton. I can't believe you east coast fuckers let those asshole writers nix Omar Little's character. That was worse than when Said broke Adebisi in half. Everyone in Maryland can basically kiss my fucking ass right now.

the wire has caught a lot of bad pub here in MD this year. the premier in Baltimore got protested by the mayor and a large group of african americans who were upset in how inner city baltimore was portrayed. NEWS FLASH FOLKS!: Baltimore is a violent ass drug addicted city. The Wire is quite accurate IMO.

I was pretty devestated by Omar getting done by a little kid. The ending when the switched the names was a 5 second mind-fuck for me.

Best show on TV, sad there are only 2 episodes left. I own season 1-4, having said that, you both get rep'd for the reference.

This is supposedly moved to 6/7 on Showtime to go head to head with the Pavlik/Lockett fight on HBO. It's also supposed to feature a Quintana-Williams rematch.

Mora is going to surprise some people against Forest in June. He has an intense camp going with major league sparring? Margarito, Angulo, Kirkland, etc.. He is going down to 154 to fight for Vernon?s belt and he will be very formidable at that weight. The questionable decision to pass on a shot at Taylor and then a flat performance after the emotional let down of the Ouma fight being cancelled, have people understandably overlooking and dismissing him. That, I believe, will work in his favor going forward. Also, his power has always been in question. His power has much improved over the past 3 years and at 154, will be a serious factor.

That's a fair comment as Mora has definitely not fought enough. But when he has, he has fought mostly very big, hard hitting 160 pounders (Regan, Archek, Ruvacalba) and beat all of them. Those are all guys that are tall, strong and awkward ... fighters that are hard to look good against. Ayala was not a good night for Mora. He should have never let a draw result. However, coming off of that fight, he got back in the ring and stopped a 6' 3" middleweight with 28 KO's. Vernon is a step for sure ... but Vernon will fade and come out of his game after about 5 rounds (see Mayorga). So I think Forest needs to make it happen early or he'll find himself in trouble.

The guys Mora has fought in his last few fights may be able to hit hard, but they're not even in Forrest's universe when it comes to skills.

I think Mora will get knocked out inside 5 rounds, or run scared for the full 12 and lose a virtual shutout.

This should be the end of the myth that the Latin Flake is a top 'contender' (excuse the pun).

"Bogus" would be a generous euphemism, I think--that decision was absolutely fucking disgraceful. Forrest dropped 7 of those 10 rounds to Quartey, and that was in addition to Mercante taking an extra point away from him in the ninth.

Heh, I remember reading a post on a boxing board (I can't for the life of me remember which one) shortly after the fight that started with something along the lines of "It's okay, guys--I just got off the phone with an NYPD detective and reported the robbery."

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say Quartey was robbed against Forrest, but I certainly thought he deserved the nod. If I remember right I think I had Ike a point up in the end after taking the point away.

How can anyone think that Sergio "The Latin Worm" Mora from the Pretender series can possibly have a chance against a real fighter? Even an "on the way out boxer" like Forrest can still beat "The Latin Flake" on his worst day. Sergio cant fight, all he does is get on his bicycle and "slaps" on his way out. Why do you think he never fought Taylor, cuz he would get his ass handed to him. I think Vernon Forest should be placed on suicide watch, not because he lost to Mora, but because he looked like he lost the will to live. He didnt do anything in that fight and the fact he just ALLOWED himself to lose to Mora if proof that he just doesnt care about anything anymore.

Was he really that bad ? I havent seen the fight but I really didnt see him losing to Mora at all.
