First off I hate Brock. Don't think this fight needs to happen. However I realized long ago that to complain about one fight, with a legit threat to Couture, is retarded. The Kimbo problem was A) they protected him and B) gave us little else in terms of quality fights with quality fighters. Neither of these are a problem in the UFC. Couture is a little more then a fucking challenge. We just got Sherk/Tyson as an opening bout on a card that also featured Anderson Silva and Kosheck/Alves.

This year alone we have seen GSP/Fitch, Alves/Hughes, Nog/Syliva, Penn/Sherk, Anderson/Hendo, Wandy/Jardine, Rampage/Forrest, and many other quality bouts. If you don't want to watch, then fucking don't but don't bitch. It is pathetic.

The first PPV will have to be fully stacked to gain the high buy rate. I think it would be tits if WEC can get Jake Shields to come in and fight Condit. I think they are the only 2 top 10 fighters that aren't in the UFC....is Condit in the top 10 here? Maybe I am wrong about Condit, but they are pretty much the best WW's not in the UFC. Maybe there is a WW in the UFC that needs a career boost. Look at Varner when he dropped out of the UFC, picked up some wins, and then came to the WEC.

I don't see as much hate on Faber as lack of acknowledging Brown as legit still. Wins over Curran, Yves and Faber in his last 5 should earn more than a dismissive mention as being a belt holder until Faber comes back for it. I'd still say he's an underdog, but the lack of respect shown for him is palpable.

I'm sorry, but I still can't believe no one gave Mike Brown even a punchers shot. Everyone just assumed it was another easy Faber title defense and that Brown was just some pushover, which isn't or wasn't the case.

Mike Brown has been on a tear since 2006 and beat Jeff Curran his last fight. He trains hard and gives every fight a 100%. I won't lie I thought Faber was going to win, but I thought it would be a lot closer fight then people expected and that Brown could upset him.

Plus add in the fact I'm sick of Frank Mir shoving Faber down our throats like he is the greatest thing since slice bread and can't be defeated. Plus I hated Faber's gay little dance to the cage.

Filho was getting dominated in that fight also. Sonnen was just an idiot who kept trying to GnP every time he got Filho down and he payed for it. Sonnen actually GAVE Filho his only chance of winning that fight. If Sonnen would of kept that fight standing like a smart fighter, he would of won that fight decisively also. Filho could not take him down and was getting dominated on the feet. It was pure stupidity on Sonnen's part.

They don't have a whole lot of choice. They only do small arena's like the hardrock usually. They air on vs and score an average rating of 0.5. So they have to continue to turn a profit and the only way to do that is to keep expenses down. The little guys in fight sports are often shafted simply because your average audience member is only interested in the larger fighters.

He'd of hit 40k with a win against an unranked fighter, plus a possible sub or ko of the night bonus. Losing hurts more than just your pride, I'm sure he feels it in the wallet.

It still seems a little low for a televised event even though it's cable.

I'm totally speculating here, but let's say that's his standard rate, and he fights 3 times a year. That puts him at 120k for his purses, add equal of that for his sponsors he's making a quarter mil a year. that's pretty good for a young guy who is traveling the world having fun, but it isn't set for life money for sure.
