So we've added a few new features to the board, and hopefully have defined a new direction for growth of the site. For over half a decade, bloodyknux has brought you interviews, news, event coverage, and discussion. Our stuff has spanned the sport from the smallest shows to the biggest fighters the sport has ever known. Obviously there's a whole lot more coverage of MMA than when we started. Hundreds, probably thousands, of similar sites have come and gone since we started, but we've always prided ourselves in being way too stupid to quit while we were ahead.

The one thing we've always done that other sites usually fail, is local coverage. Sherpup and BloodyElbow show up when two ranked fighters are in the main event, but there are literally a dozen shows every week where the next big name in MMA is just getting started. In DC, we've covered a half dozen different promotions, and watched them come and go. We've even had the big show come to our market. I recognize that we've got some great members who've covered events for us all over the continent, and even in the UK, and we often are the only "press" showing up to the local watering hole to see Zeke and Bocephus slug it out.

I'd like to put this out to all of of our loyal members. Check out your local scene. If you're already involved, great. Drop me a note, and tell me about what you've got coming up. If you think enough local fans would come here to check out a review, and talk about the event, we can set that up.

I've been to the big shows. They're great. A packed house of fans checking out the cream of the crop in MMA is a night to remember. If you haven't sat ringside at a local show and had blood splatter on your score card, then there's a side of MMA you just haven't experienced. Top MMA athletes aren't grown in labs. They start small and build their skills and names in shows were you can walk right up to them. You can meet the next Eddie Alvarez or Kurt Pellegrino next weekend, and watch them grow into a champ.

For now, we've launched 3 new local sites-

www.bloodycanucksmma.com
www.bloodydcmma.com
www.bloodycarolinasmma.com

Vanilla Gorilla, myself, and Chivo will be heading up these sites, and hopefully we'll launch some more in the future.
