TYLER TONER VS. BRANDON VISHER
Round 1 - Referee Herb Dean in charge of the evening's first preliminary bout. A quick touch of gloves, and "Aldo vs. Faber" is underway. Toner opens with a low kick, then stumbles back when Visher retaliates. Right straight from Visher followed by a low kick. Tentative pace to open. Toner works the outside of the leg, then inside. Visher pushes him back with another straight. Visher loading up on power shots, but they're coming only slowly. Toner kicks high, and a flurry from both ensues. Toner wobbles Visher briefly, but he recovers quickly. Two minutes in. Toner lands a front kick, the drops Visher with a stiff left hand. Toner pounces on his foe and throws elbows to the side of the head until Dean is forced to step in. Tyler Toner def. Brandon Visher via TKO (elbows) - Round 1, 2:36.

TAKEYA MIZUGAKI VS. RANI YAHYA
R1 – Mizugaki comes out firing, keeping a low stance, trying to avoid Yahya’s takedowns. Yahya goes for the takedown, but Mizugaki lands and top and drops a couple of shots before returning to his feet. Yahya manages several takedowns, but Mizugaki is quick to return to his feet each time. Mizugaki is back on his feet, again staying low, but landing some hard punches that rock Yahya. Yahya swinging back, but missing most of his shots while Mizugaki continues to connect. They clinch and Mizugaki takes Yahya down, landing in his full guard, who finishes the round with a few ground and pound shots.

R2 – Round two starts off with a more calculated striking game from both, Mizugaki again landing the more accurate and harder shots. Yahya gets in trouble and clinches, working really hard for the takedown, but manages to pull Mizugaki into his butterfly guard. They clinch up on the ground and get stood up. Mizugaki is stalking now, Yahya hanging back. Mizugaki lands several shots in combination as they two flurry. Yahya is starting to look tired. Mizugaki moves in and Yahya pulls him down into guard to end the round.

Round 3 - Tentative again. Mizugaki lands a left to the body. Mizugaki leaps in with a right tot he head, but Yahya ducks and looks to work the fight to the floor. Mizugaki taken to his knees, but Yahya keeps the bodylock tight. Mizugaki works to his feet and delivers a few solid elbows to his rear, where Yahya remains while looking for the takedown. Yahya stays on the back, and Mizugaki throws a few more elbows. Yahya finally gets Mizugaki to the floor, and he gets both hooks in while looking for the rear-naked choke. Mizugaki defends well, and the two are at a stalemate. Yahya comfortable with the hooks, and e rleases the choke and throws a few punches. Mizugaki defends, and Yahya works the choke back in while shifting to his own back. Mizugaki quickly defends and pulls the arm away. Mizugaki rolls into the move and now works from Yahya's guard. One minute left, and Yahya has an open guard underneath. Yahya holds Mizugaki close, and there's not much room to elevate and strike. Crowd again wants a standup, and boos come in with 30 seconds left. Rosenthal watching closely, but Yahya shrimping a bit and Mizugaki trying to posture, so he leaves it there. Round ends in the position, and this one won't be on TV. Yahya earns the third on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9, though Mizugaki takes the fight, 29-28. First round could be telling on judges' cards. Takeya Mizugaki def. Rani Yahya via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28).

Wow they didnt televise Yahya/Mizugaki? Weak.
Hopefully what they do air on the spike prelims is worth it on paper at least.

CHAD MENDES VS. ANTHONY MORRISON
Round 1 - Referee Jon Schorle in the cage, and the crowd is firmly behind Mendes. Quick touch of gloves starts. Mendes in the center and misses with a jab. Mendes kicks low. Morrison returns fire. Morrison circles, looking to use range, Mendes throws a few punches and powers in for a takedown. Morrison defends well, lands a few punches and pushes away. Morrison lands a jab. Another jab pops Mendes' head back. Mendes shoots in. Morrison defends, but a second effort pushes "Cheesesteak" to the floor. Mendes and top, and he slides around and sinks in a guillotine choke and pulls guard. Morrison signals immediately that he's fine, but Mendes isn't letting go. Menes torques patiently, and Morrison relents with a tap. Chad Mendes def. Anthony Morrison via submission (guillotine choke) - Round 1, 2:13.

BRAD PICKETT VS. DEMETRIOUS JOHNSON
R1 – Pickett scores early with some crisp punching, but Johnson fires back with a strong low kick and a high kick that gets Pickett’s attention. Pickett catches a couple of kicks, doesn’t do much with the first, but lands a couple hard right hands on the second. Johnson moves in to strike, but Pickett shoots the double-leg and takes him down. Johnson manages to get up, but eats some hard shots getting there. Pickett puts him right back down on the mat and starts ground and pounding from half guard. Johnson does a good job scrambling out and up and peppers Pickett with a couples punches and a knee. Pickett fires back with punches. Johnson connects with a jumping knee to the chin, but Pickett catches him and slams him down, immediately going to side control and ground and pounding. They finish in a flurry.

R2 – Lots of jockeying for position to start the round, but Pickett manages a takedown a couple minutes in, landing in side control. Johnson gets back to his feet, lands a solid punch combination and follows with a head kick, then a few more strikes before Pickett again scores the double-leg takedown, working from half guard. Johnson stays patient and works his way back to his feet, again going head hunting with a kick, but having it blocked. Pickett scoops Johnson up and slams him down, starts in side control and quickly gains full mount, raining down punches until the bell. Another good close round.

R3 – Johnson goes right back to striking and Pickett again gets the takedown and starts ground and pound from full guard. He moves to half guard, but Johnson gets up and escapes, he fires with some good punches and a knee to the body then takes Pickett down, landing in the Brit’s full guard. He passes to side, but Pickett gets up. He goes right back to the takedown, however, and lands the double-leg. Pickett is in side control and easily slides into full mount with just over a minute left. Johnson manages half guard, and then an escape to his feet. Pickett clinches and lands a couple of knees to the body, but misses on the submission attempt.
