Main Event
Denis Kang vs Dae Won Kim

W1 bantamweight title fight
Adrian Wooley vs Randy Spence

W1 Featherweight Title Fight
John Fraser vs Thierry Quenneville

Antonio Carvalho vs Juan Barrentes
Ivan Menjivar vs Shad Smith
Misha Cirkunov vs Ion Cherdivara
Jorge Britto vs Eddie Fyvie
Bruno Hosier vs Matt Dunning
Brent Franczuz vs Josh Hill
Demetrious Arvanopolus vs Jay Alexander
Michael Imperato vs TBD
Chris Myra vs Tim Chessel

Been a long time since we've seen Mengivar! Last time I saw him do anything was last summer when he won the Fila Grappling Tourny in Ottawa.

Myra's been gone for awhile too, hopefully he stays healthy this time around, he was suppose to make a comeback a little while ago and got injured.

Wooley's a beast and should retain his title vs Spence. His wrestling nullified Remi Morvan's BJJ in his last outting, and that says something serious about Wooley's power/technique wrestling.

Matt Dunning is a beast too, huge powerful HW and he should have no problem mowing over Hosier.

CARVALHO!

A win over Smith more than likely will not turn the heads over from the WEC. Quenneville was suppose to sign with the WEC though, not sure what happened with that.

This card has a lot of guys on it that should be signing with WEC. Wooley and Menjivar would be awesome to see over there, and like I said Quenneville actually might already be there.

JTT should know more about this than I do. Let's hope he does.

I figured I could bump this thread up since the event is right around the corner. I think W-1 managed to put together quite a nice card and it should be a night of entertaining fights for the fans. I am also glad they managed to secure Quebec talent for the card too.

Mengivar coming back is awesome. A guy who was ahead of his time and got sidelined from the sport (injuries and just life in general). I don't think I will be able to pay too much attention to his fight as I will be fighting right after him. However, I definitely will watch the video of the fight later. Also looking forward to watching my two friends and training partners, Adrian Wooley and Josh Hill scrap that night. Josh is a very good bantamweight prospect and Adrian Wooley may only be a few steps away from going to the WEC. We certainly need more Canadian BW fighters there to represent.

My training is going well and I feel like complete sh*t :) Which is exactly how I am supposed to feel at this point during my training camp hehe. I hope to bring some new skills to the cage in this one. On that note, if anyone is interested, here is my last fight shown on "TheScore" here in Canada.

I for one am very excited to be seeing Menjivar back in the ring, and Wooley too. He's an absolute monster, and took one of my bjj coaches (Remi Morvan) through a 5 round wrestling clinic to win the W1 title.

Lots going on at this event that I'm excited for, and I'm very, very suprised it hasn't gotten much attention....but maybe that's just since it's in a new forum that not many people know how to find yet. (The canadian section of bloodyknux.com)

Best of luck on the 19th Pato.

If I could be in two places at once I would bro. This is the same night my Muay Thai instructor and friend Mark Holst is making his debut in the UFC. All the best though, and maybe next time we'll be able to meet up.

Congratulations, Antonio. At least in those 10 seconds, your hand speed is looking good. Had you both gotten cracked before that clip? His legs already look questionable, and you mention you got caught in your interview?

I bet you didn't even know W-1 changed your name to John Fraser.

Also, was the Menjivar fight at FW? Early on in his career I always thought many of Menjivar's troubles were due to the fact that he was fighting guys 10 times bigger than he was. See the GSP fight for a ridiculous example, where Menjivar puts up a pretty good fight.

Yes, he was rocked prior to that last exchange. I had him wobbled before that. Hence, the wobbly legs as he came in.
As far as catching me, he cut me in the first exchange of the fight (Did not require stitches). His exposed knuckles (The part of the hand that is not covered by the glove) hit me on the top or my eyebrow. It was a weird cut. Like the skin was flapped over. So it bleed right away. Plus, he did manage to land a punch somewhere on the back of my head. So I stood back and began to play sharp shooter with kicks and punches. It worked. So I am happy :)

Lol, ya I did notice that the first time I saw the clip (Fraser).

Yep, it was at FW. He even mentioned that he would like to eventually drop to BW. I am happy he is back. The guy was ahead of his time and deserves more credit.

When you look at his record, most of his losses have come to high quality, much larger opponents. GSP, Jason Black, Shaolin, Serra, Faber, Uno, Bartimus.

Of that list, I'm pretty sure only Faber is at FW (maybe a starved Uno). GSP is a big welterweight, and both Black and Serra fought at welterweight.

Guys he beat: Jeff Curran, Ryan Ackerman, Miki Shida, Joe Lauzon, Hideo Tokoro.

Plus he has wins via suplex, knee bar, and calf slicer. That's a cadilac list.

Menjiplex FTW! lol
I still remember when I first saw that back then. Freaky stuff. Ivan will be fighting in the MFL 3 event at the end of August against WEC vet Bendy Casmir. Great fight and one to look forward to for sure.

Probably not the right place for this, but a friend and fellow fighter (Undefeated BW Taylor McCorriston out of FTCC in San Francisco) made this pretty cool highlight of me.

Nice work, Antonio. Hands looked real quick, and I like the variety of kicks.

Also, it's throwaway, but whipping that final left hook somehow around his head as the ref is stepping in is great. The angle doesn't even look possible.
