in the main event we have ken shamrock vs johnathan ivey

ivey is a journeyman who is set up to lose to shamrock.

ricco rodriguez v mike perez is co-main event

ricco is coming off knee surgery from a month ago. gil says ricco is good to go for the fight, and that the surgery was just an endoscopic clean up of the joint.

another local fight of interest is mike guidry 1-0 (lafayette LA) vs devin conkling 8-3 (lion's den)

guidry is a submission fighter training under tim credeur at the gladiator academy, and conkling is an all around fighter who is looking for the KO.

other notes: ken says he is in the best shape he's been in 5 years. this fight is a one fight deal, but he really likes the way gil runs his fights. at his age, he can only really go hard in sparring 1 out of every 4 days, and he spends the off days working technique and drilling.


i'm curious to see how the fights turn out. LET'S GET IT ON!

Ricco didn't make it to the weigh-ins. The promoter said that ricco called and said the doctor wouldn't clear him to fight. I was kinda expecting this to happen. Ricco had knee surgery a month ago prompting him to pull out of the Bellator show. I just didn't see him being able to compete so soon after surgery.
But the silver lining of the card is that we have 3 very good amateur prospects on the card that I'm very excited to see.

Allen Myers- finished his last two fights very quickly. one with a tko and one with a rnc. Lafayette Gladiator

JD Domengeaux- dominated his last opponent. the fight should have been stopped in the 1st. he showed a good ground game, going for a heel hook, scramble, and finishing with gnp. Lafayette Gladiator

Calvin Miller- very athletic, good footwork, crazy kicks, sharp punching, and good defense. i don't know about his ground game but he trains with Ricco at La. Boxing in Baton Rouge.

No, Shamrock won by decision. Shamrock is ready for a title shot at LHW or HW, in any top organization
