OO XX Pics and Discussion

OO Fights (formerly Operation Octagon) put on an incredible event last Saturday with over 30 matches both professional and amateur. Mike Pope won is professional debut and Gold Medal Grappling swept all five of their bouts with one of them being the fight of the night between Bellator veteran Brian Van Hoven and Hybrid Training Center's Jeff Peterson.

I took photographer Roger Stone along and he shot over 3000 photos. Do you know how long it takes to go through and edit 3000 photos? I have no idea because I'm not even close to through yet.

Brian Van Hoven needed all his experience and skills in an all out war. Jeff Peterson is a beast! Brian threw the kitchen sink at this kid and he kept coming. Van Hoven used his wrestling and timing to keep a slight advantage on the score cards, and both fighters and the cage were a bloody mess.

Yes, I do requests. Josh Brown is the former HW Operation Octagon amateur champ and a very bad man. I've seen enough of his fights to know. I was expecting him to do very well even though Paul Holt is slightly larger than a tank. Holt proved he didn't just look dangerous. He stuffed Brown's take-downs and hammered his ribcage as a reward for trying. Sitting ringside you could feel those shots through the floor. I look forward to seeing more of "the Phoenix" for sure.
