Instead of being a good ambassador for the players and reaching out to the fans, he basically shot their cause in the foot even more. In response to a question about the Fans saying the players were jealous he basically said " Fuck them, they are just jealous of us. Its not like we havent tried to get the game back on the ice." The clip will be all over ESPN probably tonight so watch and revel in the stupidity that is the NHL players

Good ol' JR.
Growing up, I always wished Scott Stevens would decapitate him
I saw it and it was for sure it was frustration, but why go out there an make an ass of yourself and the nhlpa? Alot of what he said was true though, the nhl hasn't budged and it's really just a matter of greed and jealousy from what they have shown so far.

Roenick's the only big name player who's willing to say the things that are needed to be said. how many other NHL players wish they would have said what he said? a very good percentage. Roenick's just got the balls to say it

The only time I could tolerate Roenick's dumbass was when he got his jaw broken and it was wired shut.
I'm gonna go against the grain (strangely enough) and say good for JR.
His negativity was directed at the fans who think all NHL'ers are greedy and have no love for the game and not aimed at all fans of the sport and for the fact that now they have pretty much come to an agreement, the initial agreement that JR, Inigla, Esche and Pronger were pushing was a better deal and wasn't even considered by the NHLPA.
It must be frustrating for the players and with all the confdentiality and tight-lipped conversations though this whole debacle, it's good to see someone not give a shit and speak on behalf of the real people.

I saw this on ESPN.com when I got home from work. I kind of agree with jsc and Bishop, but I really don't think Roenick's statements are doing much to help out the current state of affairs. I hope people don't make too big a deal over this.
