Anyway, I used to work in the Sports department of Channel 5 in Dallas/Fort Worth and I know the cameraman that got attacked (He works for channel 4) and he is a great guy and was just doing his job and Rogers just walked up and grabbed the camera and knocked off of his shoulders, he went after it 2 more times until he got the camera and kicked it.

If you know anything about the News business then you know that cameras are photographers fucking lives, they protect those things like they are babies.

I hope he gets a long long suspension.

The Rangers are saying he's competitive and was fired up. From what? #1 He's a pitcher and it was his night off, he wasn't gonna do anything but ride pine and chew gum all night. #2 He hurt his hand last week punching a water cooler, so he won't be pitching for a while anyway. WTF.

as a pro camera op/photog I can vouce for out commie friend. We protect our cams with our lives, I've taken dives and curled my camera into my body when getting knocked over to protect it.
but remmeber that guy who get hit, the camera wasnt his, it wouldnt it. it would mearly be a 60-80,000 dollar toy of the networks.

Not to nit pick, but they aren't part of the network, they are an affiliate. A stations budget is much tighter than the networks. So, it's a KDFW camera not a FOX camera. and Even though, in this instance, the station would probably have understood the cameramen are responsible to the station for a broken camera.
