absolutely retarded. it makes me sick to my stomach to see kwame making money and having teams go after him after what a letdown he was/is. the lakers are going to look stupid this year. i hope they start him and the babyface 300 pound center so kobe won't have to pass at all, but will at least have some less-than-talented kids to yell at.

All the black guys at my school who didn't play basketball/were ineligible for the team, would come to the games, sit in the stands, and yell "SCALABRINE!!!" at every stiff, white guy on the floor. Excellence.
i'd say the clippers definitely got hooked up. mobley is better than simmons and will be making less money. the only downside is they'll be paying mobley when he is 35.
the laker deal is high risk, high reward. they're obviously banking on signing a free agent point guard like antonio daniels to fill in the pg spot, and i'm not all that broken up over not seeing atkins play another game as a laker. i love butler and i hate to see him go, but at least now odom can go back to his natural spot of sf. brown has been shit so far and i'm pretty skeptical about him, but he is still only 23 and he has shown signs of huge potential. i don't think brown will pan out, but if he does, this trade could have huge upside.

ESPN reports Bonzi wells has been dealt
ESPN.com has confirmed that the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to exercise an $8 million option and send the disgruntled swingman to the Sacramento Kings in a three-way deal with the Utah Jazz.
The trade was first reported by the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
The deal cannot be announced until the NBA finalizes its collective bargaining agreement.
The Kings will send guard Bobby Jackson to the Grizzlies -- a moved Jackson also confirmed to SportsTicker -- and center Greg Ostertag back to Utah for a second tour of duty with the Jazz.
Utah also would send guard Raul Lopez and Kirk Snyder and forward Chris Borchardt to Memphis.

yeah, i've always thought swift was really underrated. i don't know why but for some reason i see him as a poor man's shareef abdur rahim. i think if they let him start for the whole season he could average 15-16 points and 7-8 rebounds.

though he's injury prone, Bobby Jackson is too valuable to give up. bonzi is decent, but he's no bobby jackson. as much as i'm a fan of the kings, I am leaning towards the team being improved, but bonzi for bobby isn't the step in the right direction

Damon Stoudamire heading to Memphis according to ESPN. If that is true Grizzlies will have 3 PGs that could be a starter in alot of teams in Williams, Jackson AND Stoudamire. hmm..
heat sign shaq to 5-year $100 million deal.
now, i know my opinion might be biased, being a lakers fan and all, but this deal looks fucking retarded. shaq's already getting slowed down by injuries and they commit to paying him probably over $20 million when he's 38. i also think demanding that much money is retarded and selfish on shaq's part. i remember him saying something about he's never even touched the money he's made so far off of basketball, he lives comfortably off of the money he's made from endorsements and movies. so basically the only real reason to demand that much money is to stroke his ego, and by doing so it makes it harder for the heat to sign free agents since they won't have as much money to do it with.
just once i would like to see one superstar say "fuck it, sign me for the league minimum, i'm already going to be a rich man for the rest of my life and i'd like to see the team be able to sign some guys to help me win."

Charlotte/New Orleans didn't do bad when they had Wesley/Baron on the court together....though Wesley went on to be a full fledge SG from there on. the Grizzlies are a small team to begin with and I'm sure they'll use 2 PG sets throughout the year

dude they dumped eddie jones. the best slasher/shooter who can no longer slash or shoot in the league. at 12.7 points per game how can you afford NOT to give the guy $14.5 million dollars a year
The Heat stockpiled the "worn out shooters" last year, they had acquired Steve Smith from the Bobcats in a midseason deal. Mostly just the Bobcats trying to get Smith a ring, in what was a pretty classy move.
The Pacers just signed Dale Davis to a two-year deal today. That's 12-15 brutal minutes off the bench. Rebounding, blocked shots, and "don't try that layup bullshit" fouls. I have to say that they are definately the favorite in the Eastern conference.
