You guessed it: violation of MLB's substance abuse policy. Confirmed that he was suspended for testing positive for steroids. Just heard it on the Jim Rome show hosted by Skip "the Cobra" Baylis.

BTW, is Viagra a steroid?no, but I remember when Canseco's book accused Raffi of taking steroids (not a blanket "It looks like he takes steroids" accusation, but a detailed account of teaching a guy whom canseco grew up with in Miami how to take steroids correctly), I thought "So maybe that's why he needs viagra?" as far as his legacy, I never thought (even with his numbers) that he was Hall of Fame material, and now I have a small bit of validation.

I read Canseco's book, and I found Raffy's testimony at the hearings and his flat out denial to be twice as funny now that he got busted like a dumbshit even after all of that hoopla.
And yes, I would call this serious validation for you.

As for Raffy, so much for swearing to God and country that you never took roids. Hard to respect the guy now.
if he was smart he would have pulled a Bonds and got injured for an entire season in order to get clean.

What do you know? Another baseball player who "didn't take steroids intentionally."
About 2 and a half years ago, some redneck at a bar tried to fight me because I was talking to someone about steroids in baseball and said that probably 50% of MLB players used them. This fucking redneck got all hot under the collar and asked where I got my information. I told him that I had seen an investigation on Real Sports w/ Bryant Gumble that I felt was very credible. He said, You watch Bryant Gumble," mockingly. So I asked him where he got his news. He said Bill O'Reilly.
I proceeded to pwn him in front of everybody and he got all pissed and followed me out of the bar.
