View Full Version : Silva VS Yoshida Rd1 MWGP almost set?
i got this info from kakutougi.info, in which they got the info from sportsnavi
http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/fight/pride/headlines/20050316-00000013-spnavi-spo.html
somebody japanese here can translate anything important if they want to, but from what i understand from kakutougi, this isnt confirmed information, but the fight is all but set in stone for the first round of the MWGP.
thoughts?

Meh, Silva will probably take it easier than last time. I don't see Yoshida pulling off a submission and he sure as hell isn't going to KO Silva.
you may be right, however, i still see Yoshi taking 3 rounds of damage where then the judges would decide. Yoshi had a head of stone and that makes him dangerous to opponents, simply because h has the submission skill to submit anybody. giving a man like that 3 rounds to grab an arm or something, isnt good, and makes for unpredictability. still i think, Silva by JD like last year.

Yoshida's a tough bastard, but so is Silva. It can prove to be a very cool fight though.

This fight will go pretty much like the first fight. I am quite looking forward to it.

i hope so. Yoshida isnt going to look so good afterward, but it will make for an entertaining fight if it does go down like last time.

let's see if it really happens first. i hope for Yoshida's sake it doesn't.

I hope we see the fight just not yet, and I doubt either fighter would want to face the other until they had to.

doubt on. this was requested by one, or both fighters. i know definetly one of them asked for it. believe it was Yoshi.

Really? I just wouldnt of felt that was a smart move looking at it from his point of view, but it will be good to see them go at it again, especially as I know a little more about both figthers since their last fight, I think Silva will take the fight but it would be an uneducated guess to predict how it would end.

I'm gonna go with the underdog on this one. Yoshida via choke rd 2. Call me crazy.

Silva = overrated and overprotected. Couture, Tito, Liddell, Belfort > Silva

I like Silva more than Belfort. Silva has fought alot of cans but he's consistant with his fighting. Belfort, forget it. Who the fuck knows when he'll win a fight next.

This fight doesn't interest me at all.. I'd rather see Nakamura fight Silva than Yoshida.

If it happens in PRide, then i'd call his next fight a loss on his behalf.

Maybe Silva would lose as much as belfort if he were fighting Ortiz, Liddell, and Couture. The only top LH he beat was Jackson. Couture = MMA God

The 1st fight was a hell of a fight and the fans were going ape shit the entire match. Yoshi did better than almost everybody against Silva. I see it happening and I'm looking forward to it.

the match has actually been confirmed since the making of this thread. i know i was going apeshit the whole match. that shit was an amazing battle. Yoshida isnt one of those people that is just going to fall to Silva. hes going to make it grueling and take alot of punishment before he loses. with that said he easily has the skills to take him out on the ground with a sub. we just need to see it happen. Yoshi needs to find a way to rock him to the ground, then go for the sub. soften him up some.
