seriously, congratulations. I know it's supposed to be about the skills and learning, but I know that that symbol sitting around your waist must feel nice. At least I'd imagine :(

Yeah, it still feels surreal. I can't believe I got promoted. I train my ass off and I guess it paid off. It feels really nice. When I got it I banged my chick whilst wearing only my brown belt.

Oh, and my jab use to be pretty good. My former boxing coach said the best punch in boxing was the jab and that everything worked off of it. So, for the 8 months I trained boxing it was drilled into me to jab my ass off. I got to where I gave the best guy there (2 time gold glove champ) a little trouble mainly cuz I concentrated so much on my jab. But, since I haven' t boxed in years I'm sure my jab sucks shit right about now.

It still amazes me how few mma fighters use the jab.

Fucking awesome bro. Congrats! I've been a no-gi no-belt for so long, I'm not sure what I'd do if anyone "promoted" me all of a sudden... Non-Brazilian + no-gi + ultra-high-belt Brazilian instructor = zero no-gi promotions for white guys, ever. But it's all good; the training is most important. Still, I'd sleep with everyone on this forum for a high belt, just for the novelty and street rep of it all...
