Printer problem

Has anyone ever had a problem with a Lexmark scanner/printer?

My mate has a Compaq laptop with Win98 then an upgrade to XP and poorly maintained. Installed s Lexmark printer /scanner.

It prints text off notepad, photocopies via manual button. It will though not scan.

It seems well weird. This the second new printer, same model.

Note: I always seems to be pissed and stoned when I try fix this. This happens a lot.

Try using the built in scanning in windows, the 'scanner and camera wizard' usually works when the manufacturers software doesn't.

Skulk's advice may work. Sometimes, generic calls are better than native, for some weird fucking reason...

If that doesn't work, contact Lexmark directly, it may be a hardware erroer..
