Anybody got thoughts on this? Its coming up in two weeks and i think it will be a potential fight of the year candidate. I think Morales is goiong to be able to hold off Pacman in a war to win a close UD.

I agree. As stated on other sites, I think Morales is strong enough to hold off Manny just enough to squeak out a Decision. Won't be many backwards steps taken in this one.

Morales does start slow though. So that could end up being a problem for him

If anything I think this fight will go to a decision. I don't think there will be a clearcut, fast win.

This one isn't going the distance in my eyes. I actually think it's going to end kind of early. Basically a pick 'em fight.
We'll see if Manny has a weak chin as is the rumor through the grapevine on occasion.

i think his chin is suspect too. Morales can be dropped but it usually takes a hell of a shot to do it

Morales can be dropped but it usually takes a hell of a shot to do itnot to sound like a manny nut hugger but I want to point out that one of his knockout loss's was via headbuut and an other is when he was real young 17 or 18 and under developed as a fighter,it was prety much a kid fighting a man,I've seen manny take good shots but I really cant say if he has a suspect chin or not

but a few fights back he got dropped by an unknown russian fighter in what was supposed to be an easy tuneup bout before Barrera. Either way im fucking stoked for this PPV

I believe he was also dropped by Hussein. I think Morales will be too much for him and will KO him in the mid to late rounds.

I actually feel the exact opposite. I think that either Morales won't be able to handle Manny's pace and wil be overwhelmed and stopped on his feet in the mid rounds, or Many won't be able to handle Erik's size, reach, and stegth and be knocked down a few times en route to a mid rounds stoppage.

I dont know Drew, I know weve discussed this before but I still cant shake the feeling that Manny isnt going to be able to seriously hurt Erik and the pace wont be a problem. I think if its a brawl Manny drops first. If its a boxing match Morales has the clear advantage.

Just remember Cro, Chavez' speed and volume bothered and hurt Morales.

I cannot fucking wait. Both these guys are worth every fucking penny of the PPV costs. I think people saying Pac's speed could be an issue and I think he needs to come on strong and get lots of rounds in the bank early - maybe score a knockdown as well... I think as it goes on Morales will take over and take the last rounds easy, so Manny needs to work all night here.

Was that the fight where he had his man down 3 times in the first round?
If so, you caught it just as he boarded the little yellow bus that Juan Manuel Marquez was driving.
Nooooot his finest moment. You'd already missed those in rd one.
Morales will dash his hopes of ascending to the top spot on my p4p list by ktfo. Round 9, I'd say. Morales will fight this fight as one possessed. I would not pick against that bastard again as he's proven me wrong at least 3 times in the past but Morales?
He's not in a good mood and lookin to fuck someone up. I mean ... I just can't see him doing anything to Morales who's as versatile as Pac is one dimensional. I really see a confused Pac trying to resort to his mugging and running into traps much more lethal but just as sneaky as anything JMM put on him.
He's still trying to figure out what went wrong in that fight.

I genuinly believe the night that Pacman beat up Barrera, there was a physical problem with him. I don't mean to sound as though I am detracting from Pacmans win, because i'm not( I won a lot of money betting on Pacquiao as the outsider in the UK as nobody apart from insiders knew who he was) I just can't think of any other reason for Barreras performance in that fight other than:
1) Weight Problem - which i can't see
2) Illness - Which I think is likely as Barrera is a warrior and wouldn't make excuses
3) Myself doing a disservice to Pacquiao- I knew he'd have a lot more than a punchers chance but Barerra just wasn't himself from the start of the fight.
The biggest factor in this is the way Barerra was able to give what he did in the rubber match in one of the greatest boxing trilogies of our time. That wasn't a shot fighter like the Barerra who turned up against Pac. This fight between Morales and Pacquaio means a lot more when you look at things deeper. I still rate Morales as P4P the best fighter in the world, an unfashionable pick, yes but when all is said and done i'm 100% certain that he will go down in the record books as a Boxing Legend.

perhaps the ring wars are starting to effect Barrera.
BTW, How much is the PPV $29 or $49?
