Pacquiao is in against tough Mexican Veteran Hector Velazquez and Morlaes is going to be matched against tough 1996 Olympian Zahir Raheem. Of the two i think Morales has the more dangerous bout. Raheem is an extremely quick and good technical fighter who could give Morales fits with his speed if he is underprepared. But rarely if ever does Erik come in underprepared for someone so we shall see there. THoughts on these bouts and a possible rematch afterwards? Vbookie will be up as soon as i can find legit odds

i thought the rematch was a done deal last time i heard. But for these matches, i honestly don't know enough of the opponents to make a true assessment. I don't think speed will bother Morales too much, b/c he cut the ring into tiny bits against Pacquiao and just overall negated Manny's quickness. He's a true hardened smart Mexican vet, and as u said, Morales rarely ever comes in unprepared.
as for Pacquiao, he's had big trouble w/ two Mexicans and this guy could follow Marquez and Morales' example by the letter. Question is whether or not he has the goods to do so, b/c as i mentioned, i haven't seen enough of him to make a real assessment.

There is a third fight on this card that is worth watching. Light Flyweight Brian Villoria aka "The Hawaian Punch" will be going for his first world title as he takes on WBC titleist Eric Ortiz. Villoria has some nasty power and should provide for an entertaining fight

WTF? Do you mean when Morales switched to southpaw?

damn..i'm confused? i think pacquiao did switched to southpaw last minute and got some hooks in.
Pacquaio is a southpaw bro. Morales switched to southpaw late in the fight and Pac got some shots in. After the fight Merchant asked Morales why he had switched to which he replied "Did you like it?" (in Spanish of course).
I love that guy (Morales). That guy can't be in a boring fight to save his life, haha.

Well i think Chi is past his best but at his best he could beat Manny IMO. Manny would have alot of advantages but Chi can take a punch like few others and also dish out enough pain to get Pac out of there. I would favor Manny but Chi could certainly give him a run

i hope manny takes morales, but i dont think he can
he's got to draw morales into a brawl to win
which could happen since morales got a temper, he looks like he takes punches personally
he even tried to show he could brawl with pacman in the final rounds and almost got ktfo'd in the process
morales with his head on will beat pacman 8/10 times
but pull him into a brawl, pacman will whoop him
All if gotta say is................WAR MORALES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

If Raheem wins ... that snowball has a decent chance since hell will be frozen over.

i'd have to unfortunately agree with you considering Pacquiao is a fellow countryman...as much as i feel the need to root for Pac i don't see him as a smart fighter...he's a naturally gifted brawler that takes punches to give punches...he's got natural speed that can't be trained and awesome cardio
morales is a very smart fighter...he picks his punches and is an awesome counter puncher...in the rematch i'd have to secretly bet on morales while at the party i'd have to root for pac, lol

He got beat to the punch repeatedly and didn't have a chance to over-power this guy at all.

quote from morales after the bout
"It seemed as though he didn't want to fight me," said Erik Morales immediately after his points loss to Zahir Raheem. "He kept moving away throughout the fight....I thought I did enough to win. I'm going back down to 130lbs to fight Pacquiao."
No shit he kept moving away from you eric. not everyone you face will stand in front of you. adapt to it or prepare to lose some more

and Top Rank has said already tonight that Morales/Pacquiao 2 will happen on January 21st. Raheem better get a big money bout before that cause other wise thats horseshit

if look into raheem eyes, he was hungry at that night. morales, fighting in lightweight was too much for him and he couldn't do shit. but,i hope pacquiao gets another shot at morales and beats him.
