... what ya'll think about his career? In other news, his spoiled, soft ass son has 37 wins I believe ... you believe that shit?

Okay, I'll start it off ... despite how he's usually derided by boxing aficionados Camacho's skills and heart are second to none ... or were before he passed age 35. As we all know, he's still campaigning even though he's older than Bernard Hopkins.

His hands and feet were amongst the fastest ever which enabled him to punch sharply even when he was moving ... which he frequently was and away from his opponents for the most part.

His record is sterling and he's absorbed only a few losses even at this stage in his career that weren't issued to him by hof'ers. De La Hoya, Trinidad, Chavez ... all first ballot hof'ers ... Greg Haugen, a tough as nails contender and rival during the 80's ... er, there's also Chris Walsh but he's not important.(technical dec after 7 rounds, bahhh)

His record you ask? 79-5-2 and 38 KO's. Not too shabby. And he's fought EVERYBODY! No one can decry his record or accomplishments(we'll talk about style in a moment). The way he got those fights ... talkin shit and winning. Unlike RJJ who gets a lot of crap about the one or two fights that managed to elude him, Camacho won til he couldn't be ignored and for those who would rather not face him ... he fukkin shamed their ass into it!

Even fighters HE would rather have not faced such as nearly 6 ft tall and 10 years his junior power punching DLH and Trinidad ... he boxed em and while he couldn't handle em his pride and grit kept him on his feet ... again ... they were moving away as fast as he could move em ...

... and he pocketed 3 mill against DLH ... I don't know how much he got against Trinidad but I bet it was in the same neighborhood. Money is a consideration.

Okay, now who did he beat of consequence? Where do I begin? Bazooka Limon(Tam's boy), Rafael Solis, Jose Luis Ramirez, hahaha Freddie Roach who went the distance, Edwin Rosario, Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Howard Davis, Ray Boom Boom Mancini(new hof'er), Vinnie Pazienza, came back and beat that damn Greg Haugen, ended Sugar Ray Leonard's career and of course Roberto Duran ... several times.

Oh yeah .. 3 time world champion and never knocked down or out despite facing all those big punchers and fighting into his 40's.

Hell .. if Willie Pep were fightin today most "experts" would pan his ass! I can hear em now ... "that sorry muhfukka went a whole round without throwing a punch! What a bitch."

*for those who don't know, Willie reportedly won a round back then without throwing a punch ... it's supposed to be a credit to his defensive prowess*

I was too young to really catch much of his career. The only fight I remember watching was the beat down Chavez gave him after Camacho had talked so much shit.

The only fight I remember watching was the beat down Chavez gave him after Camacho had talked so much shit.Oh yeah, Chavez' power was too much for him in the long run like it was for most of his opponents but early on in that fight Camacho gave as well as he got. As the fight wore on he began to stay away but he showed a lot of resolve to make it to the final bell.

A lesser fighter ... the other 99 percent of the pros at the time ... woulda sat it out.

You realize that the only knockout Sugar Ray Leonard absorbed was at his hands?

and all of that was w/ drugs too.

imagine how good he would have been if he were clean and kept his head in the sport instead of fuckin' around, literally, and goofing off.

that's a fight i'd like to see. i read a sports illustrated piece on that fight. there was a whole lot of drama going in. camacho with his usual flair. then when they fought, it was obvious that camacho was slipping; he lost some of the speed he used to have, and chavez was eating him alive. in the end, chavez was the clear winner, camacho was all bloodied up, but the crowd was cheering loud for the valiant camacho. heart of a champion. :)

don't know if that's how it really went down, but that's what the article said.

Well, I'm sure a fair amount of em wanted to see Camacho launched thru the ceiling but I think he made a few fans by his exhibition of courage at the end.

I mean, if it had been his son in there we woulda had "no mas" II.

Camacho DID go down in his career and more than once. Making up stuff isn't cool.

The original info came from an outdated page of his and has been addressed and corrected on the forum at Sherdog. Hell ... you even posted in the thread there. Of course, I've learned long ago to double check anything you say due to your so-called facts which you pull out your ass to suit your purposes.

Please ... get some rest. Boxing without bullshit?

You came all the way over here to get poaned. Go to bed, "mate."

Yes, Im the one pulling facts out of my ass, when all Im doing is correcting the guy who made the mistakes. I'll glady put my reputation on the sport out there, for all to see, against a guy who makes 50 posts to himself, most of them without any base or accuracy.

Besides, its hardly a cold day in hell when I correct something of my own. It happens all the time. Its called being human and accepting that, is part of what earns respect. You act like a godamn baby over something like this?

I won't go around acting as if I know it all and then crying when someone points it out.

And 'poaned'? Christ, you shamed yourself with that garbage.

No one gives a fuck about your late ass correction. It was corrected several weeks ago and the person who corrected it was YOU on Sherdog.

And you weren't half the asshole you were tonight. You said he'd been knocked down more than once and I checked and it was three times which I posted over there.

Yeah, you've something of a reputation ... mainly of being an asshole.

Here, I'll do you a favor ... "You are right". There ... now your rep is intact.

I don't make up facts. It ain't that serious.

I didn't read the date of this thread....just saw that it was current and it made several statements which were off base. I decided to pick you up on one of them, which I had told you about a week or two ago.

I wasn't aware that it was old....I just thought you were just stupid or something.

Shaolin Bushido
09-28-2005, 06:51 AM
OMFG, "I" act like "I" know it all? That's funny ... why are you the only one who's noticed that? I'm crying cause I've been corrected? No, I don't like being accused of making up shit because that's a goddamned lie.

You object so much of anyone who you perceive of disrespecting fighters living and dead but you can't even answer a fucking neutral post from people you're at least vaguely familiar with without acting like a bitch.

There you go again ... YOU and bullshit go together like coffee and cream.

Can you explain to me how you came to making the parrallel between, how I value the respecting of fighters and the posting of something to some dude whom I don't get along with?

Tam ... you don't see the hypocrisy in insisting that people you only know from books, tapes, tv, etc. ... are respected while you don't show respect for people you ARE familiar with?

You may not get along with me but this is just one in a virtual un-ending line of misunderstandings on the internet for me. I get along with you, just fine.

I guess you need only look in my sig for the key to this whole discussion ... "familiarity DOES breed contempt."

Later.

09-28-2005, 07:36 AM
Nope, don't see it at all. We're here to talk about the boxers and what they've done. We ain't here to talk about you, or me. They've done something worthy of respect and they grabbed your attention with it...otherwise, you wouldn't be here.

I have problems with people who talk like they know something, when they don't and people who just talk garbage for a living.

Again, boxers who have done something we all look up to, are not the same as some dude on the net who got a fact wrong.

Shaolin Bushido
09-28-2005, 07:46 AM
Well, that speaks volumes about you. I agree with you though. You don't get it.

At any rate, since we're not talking about boxers anymore and you have a problem you need to reconcile within yourself, why don't you handle that? I don't have a problem; at least none you can help me with.

I'll try not to make up any more stuff.

Thats the only thing you needed to make in reply, on the entire thread.
