As a few may have noticed, that's Frazetta's "A Princess of Mars" print, and not, as far as I can tell, an available cover for the book... I got the book from Amazon for free as part of their "digital classic literature" program (name escapes me) so mine doesn't even have a cover... but, in my head, it's Carter with Dejah Thoris melded to him in that barely-there bit of Nth metal.

As it should be, and if the movie had stuck with that we'd be awaiting a sequel.

Killing Pablo was one of those books that made me go O.O. My brother made me read that right after it came out.
Right now I'm readying "The year of the flood." Sequel to Oryx and Crake. It's decent, I liked Oryx and Crake, but it was nothing earth shattering. The sections on genetic splicing kind of make me a little bit nervous as to what's going on in closed doors behind some laboratories now though.

It was typical Ellis, if you like his style you'll enjoy the book. Storywise it could've been stronger and I felt like he didn't really stick the landing, but it was definitely an entertaining read.

Just finished that. Fun, but not too engaging. I was expecting something to string it all together. I have no idea what the movie will be like unless it's a faux documentary.
Also just read Brom's Krampus: The Yule Lord. Fun King style horror action story with some nice illustrations. I was expecting more art, but wasn't dissatisfied with the book.

Supergods by Grant Morrison
I'm a big fan of Morrison and most of his work, and I highly recommend his pseudo-history of comics, Supergods. I only warn you that this book stars Grant Morrison, the most important guy in the history of comics(and maybe the world). Even before entering the industry as a child Grant's opinion on comics is clearly the most important aspect of the industry worth remembering. Also his punk band was great, he's really handsome, intriguing, and gets laid alot.
It's an interesting book with lots of cool stories and intriguing opinions. I was following the row between Morrison and Moore and he touches on it a bit here. Clearly he respects Moore's work, but doesn't think Moore is the end-all of comic writers that Moore believes himself to be. Morrison comes just short of claiming that crown for himself, but spreads around praise for other visionary writers and artists to be forgiven his narcissism. Unless you think he's a prat; then fuck him.
Just finished 1984. I couldn't put it down.

The Voice of Reason: A V.I.P. Pass to Enlightenment
Chael delivers a quick read of amusing incites and bald-faced fictions. I guess I have to accept that he believes he's innocent of money-laundering and PED abuse as much as I accept he believes he won his first match with Anderson Silva and doesn't have a twitter accout.
In a broad range of topics from politics to music and everything in-between Sonnen libels, infuriates, and most importantly entertains with every page. I might not agree with Chael on many things, but I do find his character interesting. I'm curious if we will ever hear from the real Chael who only appears after taking a beating from a Braziian.
It's a nice look at Chael's world, but make no mistake, the curtain isn't being drawn back to reveal any secrets here, just a stage set to amuse you.
Wuthering Heights... Or trying to. I keep getting interrupted.
