Feel free to pick your winner this is not public poll so noone don't see how stupid you are.

1. Hong Man Choi
This freak is still undefeated in K-1 and has won 4 of his 6 fights by KO! O was suprised he won Sapp but the real test is ahead. He has the hardest route to win GP first he has to fights agains last year winner Bonjansky and if he beat Remy next opponen is Schilt or Sefo.

2. Remy Bonjansky
Remy who has won last two WGP choose Hongman for his first opponent witch was good choise in my opinion. Height different is not huge and his skills and speed should be enough. Remy told that his fight against Iggy wasn't his best but what he has actually done in this year? He has won RAY "MERCILESS" MERCER and RICKARD NORDSTRAND and lost fight to Mighty Mo. Well I didn't pick him to win last year either(bullshit decision against hoost)...

3. Semmy Schilt
Semmy is definetly darkhorse of this GP he is still undefeated in K-1 (8-0-1) his draw fight against Hoost was definetly good fight for him. This year he has done more than anyone else in K-1: first round KO victory over Silva, won Paris GP by KO/TKO all his 3 opponent and decision victoty over Feitosa.

4. Ray Sefo
I picked Sefo to win 2004WGP but he lose to Musashi by Bullshit Decision(*waits for boobs to come tell me that I don't understant K-1 rules).
This year his route is much harder, he barely can reach even Semy's head. If he manage to beat Semy Bonjansky would be much better opponent for him.

5. Jerome LeBanner
So far this year has been great for JLB. His fight againt Abidi was one of the best in this year and he was best fighter in opening round. His first fight is against Aerts and that isn't good for him. Even if he wins that fight we all know how much damage Aerts can do with his kicks.

6. Peter Aerts
Aerts was pretty impressive against Mighty Mo besides that his only fight in this year is against Carter Williams. I'm ofcourse rooting for Aerts lets just hope last year freak accident wont happen again and he could win his 4th WGP. Aerts vs JLB could be fight of the night.

7. Musashi
Musashi has very good change to fight in finals again. His fights against Roufos and Nordstrand wasn't anything special. Karaev should be easy fight for him.

8. Ruslan Karaev
This is the guy who has least changes to win the GP. If he beat Musashi it going to biggest suprise for me atleast in the first round

Karaev is gonna kill Musashi, he is a smaller fighter that can deal with Musashi's gay running around the ring one hit quit shit. Bonjasky is a stroke, he seems to get worse with every fight, a little slower, slower, slowing, stoped. He isnt going to win this year and he got lucky against Ignashov just being healed up, a Iggy with more time and more fight after recovery would've won a decision. So JLB or SEFO will be walking home with this crown, Remy is lame for picking the oddest fighter in the tourney thinking he can walk throuh him with ease. Choi is goinging to pound on Remy not a beating but he will be able to keep him at a distance unless Remy gets him with leg kicks. Karaev will beat Musashi, i dont know why Musashi has any hype at all, he is so predictable and no one thinks that a younger talent with skills that are so new and fresh will give him a test ? ? ?

Well I maybe didn't give Karaev as much respect as he would earn but still I don't see him winning Musashi( decision victory most likely). I think Remy wasn't very impressive last year either but he still won the WGP. If he plays smart he will lowkick Hongman and if second opponent is Schilt he could win that fight too...

Karaev doesn't let people run from him, he's gonna try to smash Musashi the whole time. And he has good enough gas tank to keep that up for 3 rnds. The only problem with Karaev, and what won't win him a sems match against Aerts or JLB, is that he lets himself get hit a lot. That's something Musashi won't take advantage of, so I don't see Musashi winning. JLB and Aerts will pick him apart, but Karaev's gonna be a name for beating Musashi and will hopefully work on his defensive holes.

I think Sefo's gonna lose a decision against Schilt, who's seemed to master using his height to nullify offense. His entire strat against Feitosa was to work his way in with punches and kicks, then knee in close, back off, repeat. Sefo's height makes it real hard for him to have an answer I think. I want to see Sefo/LeBanner in the finals though.

I am picking Ray Sefo, because he should have won it last year. That decision vs Musashi was crap.

this is Musashi's year. Musashi is like the Chicago Bulls and the finals is the Detroit Pistons....he'll get over the hump and win his first GP, but it won't be against Bonjasky, he'll once again beat Sefo

your kidding me right, this year he wont win by ballerina dancing his way thru opponents, i fear if he meets JLB or SEFO that they will pound him out rather vicously. I would imagine that he wont make it past Karaev on the fact that Karaev is a smaller fighter with very strong abilities that could catch Musashi.

i also dont like Musashi, he seems like he is afraid to engage and i dont like fighters that use great karate teachers names and not fight like that person would have.

seeing them fight live > seeing them fight on tv

seeing Musashi live and in person, I'm going all in for him to win it

I've got a feeling there won't be a single ko in this years event.

My pick would be whoever wins between Aertrs and Le Banner. Assuming they stay injury free that is. I guess at a push, I'd pick Aerts.

Musashi will not win this event. If he does i guarantee there will be at least 1 horrible screwjob by the judges in his favor.

if Aerts beats LeBanner, it's Musashi's tourney to win. if LeBanner gets by Aerts, it's LeBanners tournament to lose

and lose he will to Sefo in the finals.

to me, I'd want either Sefo or Musashi to win. LeBanner is very deserving, but I think he'll go down as the best fighter to never with a GP

i gotta give JLB and AERTS their over deserved props for their fights, they took care of their opponents. AERTS looked young and polished, and JLB looked his old self again.

Not only should of, but if you consider the way the rest played out, I think he clearly would of.

Sefo this year.

Im going to go this route

I would almost say Hong man will get the jd over Sefo round 1.

Round two hong man will fight Semmy who since he's been taking his special vitamins the past 2-3 years I think he'll muscle hong man and worst case scenario take a jd over hongman in round 2.

in the finals Semmy will face musashi and take the jd over musashi imo.

mushashi will get to the finals by a jd over JLB who will be beat to fuck from a tough round1 vs aerts.

so Im picking Semmy to win the GP this year although I would love to see JBL take it myself.

I picked Remy. He should be good enough to beat Hongman. Next round opponent is probably Semy and he could win that fight too. In the finals we are going to see Remy vs Aerts/JLB/Musashi. Remy has got more recovery time than his opponent and he is going to win fight by Decision.

can Remy REALLY get inside Hongmans reach and power to effectively gain enough points to take even a JD?

We have to remember Korea and Japan are the two biggest markets for K-1, which is known for shit judging.

Thus Hongman is already up 2rounds to 0 going into the fight. reguardless of how much remy has done in K-1 past, hongman is huge business for the market there and unless Remy makes him look the fool, Hongmans taking round 1 of the tourny.

I feel however the fact Semmy is 7 foot tall, he will be able to take it to Hongman and give him a big fight, Hongman never fighting anyone as strong or tall as Semmy, plus that foward front kick will nullify Hongmans reach as he tries to jab @ Semmy.

Semmy is going to have Hongmans number.

That isn't the scoring criteria  Besides K-1 judges loves Remy's fighting style just watch his fight against Hoost.

Wow, so everyone think's Musashi's gonna dance from Karaev? That guy doesn't exactly care for strategic calculation and he has the gas tank to play raging bull for three rounds

That's why this is so hard to predict. Last years GP both finalist clearly lost their first match and Aerts lost by freak accident. Anything can happen in this years GP even Bob Sapp have a changes to win this despite the fact that his name isn't in the fight card.
