Kazushi Sakuraba vs Kiyoshi Tamura
Kazuhiro Nakamura vs Alistair Overeem
Igor Vovchanchyn vs Yuki Kondo
Dan Henderson vs Lil' Nog
Vitor Belfort vs Kevin Randleman
Vanderlei Silva vs Hidehiko Yoshida
Quinton Jackson vs Shogun

various boards with "sources" are reporting these are matchups to happen for the MWGP. im skeptical thusfar, but http://www.puroresupower.com/ is reporting the Dan Henderson vs Antonio Rogerio Noguiera. if these fights happen, im ecstatic that Saku will face Tamura finally. those guys fucking HATE eachother, and its bound to be an awesome war. Silva vs Yoshida will be good. i look forward to a war similar to their last. all these matchups are good what can i say. there is nothing but talent in this GP thusfar. i cant fucking wait. i know yall have some input, so discuss.

I'm still a bit dumbfounded that Overeem is allowed in the GP and not Ninja. I know it's probably because CB has two contenders already, but Ninja deserved it way more than Overeem.

As for the fights, they look solid, no apparent cans as in the HW tournament. A few of these fights can turn into fucking wars, a lot of potential "Fight of the year" matchups imo.
I'm especially looking forward to Jackson - Shogun, perhaps Shogun can really show us what he's made of.

yeah Ninja does deserve it more than Overeem. im a fan of Overeem, but him gassing and being dominated like he was against Rogerio shoulda deemed Ninja over Overeem. i dunno though. its PRIDE were talkin about here. Shogun vs Rampage should be an awesome fight. once Shogun starts there is no off switch. he goes and goes and fucking goes. gotta KO him or get a sub in damn tight before hes done. we all know what Rampage is capable of, and his past fights with chute boxe. i honestly can see Shogun coming out on top against Rampage if he fights the right fight.

I agree with MP - but keep this in mind. Shogun AND Wandy are in this thing, 3 GP participants from the same club is too much. Even though I'd fucking love the brothers to go at it.

oh god i dunno what id do if Shogun ever fought Ninja. that would be the battle of the maniacs.

Definately one of the best i've ever seen!

Don't think it's fair that Overeem's in, both him and Ninja have already been eliminated. Where is Arona?

Quinton Jackson vs Shogun, that fight will be sick if that happens. When will they be confirming all of the matchups? I want Shogun to do well. He is a really cool dude, I met him a while back at a seminar. That will be one hell of an exciting match, regardless of who wins.

i see. everything ive heard strongly suggests hendo vs lil nog, in which we are in for a ground game decision. funny thing is their both the masters of the decision victory.

I really believe Shogun can be a huge force in the MW division in Pride, he's a talent, there's no doubt about that. I'm slowly turning into a fan of his :)

I heard he didn't want to take the fight because if Sak beat him it would hurt his pro wrestling credibility or something.

that would be pretty gay. this fight would make them both alot of money and would drive all PRIDE fans nuts with joy that two people that hate each other so much would finally bang heads after so many years.

They are going to make it hard on Vitor. Randleman is the only guy in the tourney that can keep him on his back. Still I think Vitor moves on along with Silva, Igor, Rampage, Nakamura, Sakuraba and Nogueria.

I think Rampage could keep him on his back better than Rando.

I guess maybe I'm still bitter from all of the Vitor nuthuggers @ SD, but I really hope Vitor gets his ass kicked in rd 1 (no matter who he fights). I think he got Arona's spot and we know Arona would go out there and give it his all. Vitor hasn't seemed to give 100% since Eastman. I hope if he goes out there and performs crappy that BTT (especially Arona) hazes the shit out of him after the fight.

Man I hate Vitor I am no hugger of his. But I love the UFC and I hope their guy who ever it be does great in the tourney. This is going to be hard for me because I like Randleman alot.

Talking about Rampage being able to keep him down I am sure he can too. But Rampage is more likely to stand up with him than Randleman is.

As long as Saku gets to fight one of the smaller MWs, I don't care how the fights are matched up...they are all just so good!

You're right, Rampage would keep it standing. I doubt Vitor would stand w/ him though. The last time Vitor tried standing was vs Chuck and that didn't work out. He took all of his Pride fights to the ground and the only round he won vs Tito was on the ground. He's just not as exciting as he used to be.

I don't care if Vitor is called the "UFC rep" or not, I'm not excited to see him and I'm not rooting for him. I personally don't even consider him a UFC rep. It's just a title that Dana is monetarily benefitting from somehow. Vitor's floated around between Pride and UFC. He's #4 (at best) in the UFC's LHWs. He hasn't had a decent win over a good fighter in the UFC since he beat Wanderlei 7 yrs ago.

If Tamura doesn't fight then I'm hoping Sak gets the winner of the mini.
