ok
i've been doing pushups for the past 6 years with a nagging shoulder injury... everytime i move it, or rotate it, it cracks and grinds..somethings moving around in there
its been like this literally for 6 years.... and in the military, whenever i complained, they offered zero explanation for what is wrong, and just gave me 600 ? 1000mg? motrin (army guys will know what im talking about, the huge horsepill looking one)
anyways....wtf is wrong with my shoulder and how do i fix it...people told me to stop exercising on it
but while in iraq i tried to do as little exercise as i could for a year, and right when i started to exercise again, it did the same cracking and grinding, everytime i rotate it, it does that shit, and im blaming the right side of my body getting bigger than the left due to this stupid ass injury (i can't work out the left side of my body as much due to this injury,it seems the right sideof my body compensates by exerting more force to relieve pressure on my left shoulder)
i dont have insurance and dont wanna pay a doc cause im cheap unless this is serious... wtf is wrong and how do i fix it?
I hate playing doctor for people, but I'll give you my take
Strengthening the shoulder is the only way you're going to be able to prehab this, and surgery is likely the only way you can fix it. You need to make it stronger in whatever range it hurts.

haha sorry, but thanks
i was kinda thinking the same thing, that surgery is the way
but didn't want it to be, i heard of taking glucosamine too
strength in the shoulder area isn't a problem, but i can't even work it out hard enough due to pain, i have to go light on shoulder intensive workouts or my shoulder goes dead...
alot of military guys have this problem, being that i wasn't the only one.... just dumbass army doctors dont do crap for you...fuck, i should have pressed harder to have this fixed while in the military, or have blamed it on iraq

MY shoulder pops out of the socket whenever my arm makes minor contact with anything. If your shoulder doesn't do that, it's not that big a deal.

Anyways, you're probably right. If it hurts to where you can't workout, prehab is out of the question. This is where western medicine shines. You NEED to get some insurance and get that shit fixed. It ain't gonna be cheap bro. Glucosamine isn't gonna do anything, it just rebuilds cartilege over time.
Maybe get a job and "injure" it on the job. Workmans comp is great

I think I know the creaking feeling you mean, mine does the same as does my hip when I do a lotof running.
I have found though that by taking both Cod Liver Oil and 'Glucasamine' Sulphate at the same time it lubricates the joints to the point where the 'creaking' stops. When I train without these it comes back.
I would try taking both of these supplememnts and give it around 10 days to see if it's made any difference.
It did for me mate.

How do you compete in tourneys if your shoulders pop out?
How do you compete in tourneys if your shoulders pop out?I dunno. I have this saying "stop your bitchin and fight your way through it". I tend to follow that pretty religiously

I've tried it. It doesn't work so well for me. One night, I was boxing one of my friends and my shoulder came out three times within 5 minutes. I just gave up out of pure frustration after that.

I know. But the gatekeeper, ahem, my doctor, doesn't want to cough up the referral.

Your doctor is a woman? Is she hot? Do you pop wood when she gives you a physical?
Really though. My doctor is a total nerdy ass bitch. I told him that I wanted my shoulder to get fixed so I could play sports and could tell right away that he had never played a sport in his life and just generally didn't think all that well of sports.

She's kinda hottish I guess. I thought there was gonna be some wierdness when she saw that my cock is pierced last time I went, but I guess not.
And yes, if you have the capability, switch doctors. Like mine, all I have to do is go in there and say "this hurts, refer me to an orthopedist" or "gimme some anti-inflamatories" and she does it without question. She kinda grilled me when I mentioned something about steroids, but was generally pretty nice about it.
