This was the coming out party for Aaron Pryor. Perfect setup for him as the bout was in Cincinatti, his hometown , in front of a rabid riverfront coliseum crowd. On the line, Antonio Cervantes WBA 140 lb belt. Cervantes is a legandary 140lb fighter but was on the tail end of his career when he got to this bout. Right off the bat Pryor showed he knew only one way to fight, and that was coming at you at 140 miles per hour all the time. This left him open for shots though and Cervantes did manage to score a flash knockdown at the end of round 1. Pryor would shake this off however and just smother Cervantes, cutting him open in round number 3 and then finally stopping him in round 4. The beginning of the prime of a great fighter on the national stage occured this day IMO, But dont take my word for it, watch for yourself.
