View Full Version : The Official "I'll Take You All On" TUF Avatar Bet

the consensus on the TUF thread seems to be that Evans and Stevenson are sure winners. i'm willing to stake my avatar against all of yours at these odds:
If either Luke Cummo or Brad Imes are not the "The Ultimate Fighter" by the end of the finale my avatar is yours, however if both of my picks are correct all of you who made this bet against me will be surrendering your avatar to me.
there is a revisement which i would like to propose as this is a me against the forum bet and not enough people are willing to take me up on it even with the generous odds i've given you.
the orginal terms stated 3 months avatar surrender for the loser however i'm gonna go easy on you potential losers. i say 1 month loss of avatar to those who bet against me, however for each and every one of you who do take me up on this bet i will add a month to my avatar's surrender. for example: if 3 members bet against me and i lose, i will surrender my avatar for 3 months, 4 months for 4 members and so on...
this is the official thread to make your bets with me and all the records regarding this bet will be herein noted.

i was thinking to keep the sources of my confidance to myself until the bet was settled, but we'll see...obviously if no one takes me up on the bet then i'll be more forthright with it.
i didn't make this thread to piss people off. it seemed like there was a majority of persons guaranteeing Evans and Stevenson. i disagree with them about that and i figured since they were so confidant they would call me on this.

And JMJ, are you basically saying we just change your av up each month? Do we have to set up a board to vote on it, or will you organize a roster of who's turn it is to pick your av?

oh and a few people had asked why i was so confidant. to put it as simply as possible. i basically just assumed that the larger fighters would have the advantage with the 4 months or whatever it was that they had to train and prepare for this specific match-up. 6'7 vs 5'11, 6' vs 5'7...i figured Cummo could KO Stevenson and Imes would have the reach on Rashad standing and would be able to dominate for a decision. no special inside tip. i was just surprised to see others picking against Cummo and Imes when i saw their opponents as the natural underdogs.

anyway, i was putting it as simply as possible. i figured with 4 months Cummo's sub defense looked pretty solid and could only get better whereas Stevenson probably couldn't train his chin, so i picked Cummo for the KO with a size and striking advantage. Imes is massively larger than Rashad who i see as being a pretty good wrestler but with pretty shitty striking skills and no sub game to note.
i wouldn't bet Khar over Fedor because Fedor's a better striker and grappler.

its not like you're going up against the average sherdog poster who only jumps on bandwagons
i actually pride myself on seeing a fighter objectively
that said, rashad got robbed of a 30-26 dec, split dec my ass.... rashad looked horrible in the third round due to gas, but you can't blame him, being in the clinch and ground against a guy with a 40lb weight advantage would gas anyone, and rashad constantly beat imes to the punch, and had more than 3 flash ko's imo, 2 floored him, and 2 had him fall on rashad for a clinch
rd 1 10-8 rashad
rd 2 10-9 rashad
rd 3 10-9 rashad
cummo stevenson on the other hand was real close and agree with the dec at 29-28
rd 1 10-9 joe
rd 2 10-9 cummo
rd 3 10-9 joe (real close round)
imo, Imes doesn't belong in the ufc, he has too much heart... and will get hurt with the likes of buentello, eilers, basically anyone, and wont know when or how to back down or just get ko'd
if a shorter, lighter fighter with a severe reach disadvantage can rock his world like that, fighters his size will severely hurt him, buentello could possibly kill him..... brad has too much heart for his own good

imes kept pressing the action when he was getting bashed up.... against someone his size with good striking, it could lead to brain damage

Someone having heart can make all the difference in whether it is a good fight or not, I don't think the fact that Brad shouldn't be fighting right now has anything to do with his heart....it's the fact that he's only trained for a little over a year and just doesn't have enough experience to roll with the bigger name fighters like Buentello. Miletich is a great school and Brad will learn what he needs with time, he just needs to give it time.
A man with heart is the only person I want to see in the ring.

Couture esque slaps? The first time Rashad hit him with like, five underanswered punches to the face. The second time, Brad caught a giant 1-2 flush in the face.
Also, Brad has some long arms, he can clinch Buentello before he has a decent chance to get strikes off. And I can't emphasize enough how shitty Paul is on the ground.
I mean, would I be surprised if Buentello KO'd him? Nah. But seriously, Brad could sub Paul in a fight, because heavyweight MMA is just THAT good.

ya, i can even see rashad at 185...
didn't he wrestle at 155?
if franklin can make 185, i think rashad can too... he'll need to lose muscle though

Yeah. Because wrestlers who have been fighting MMA for a year and a half, competing at a larger weight class, should be expected to finish fights decisively.

haha, you always hype me up
i'd love to see a bjj (strictly) guy get brutally ko'd
or a guy with no ground skills get chumped out

Well, Pe De Pano is cross training, but hasn't had a TON of time to do so between competing BJJ ,though he was supposed to debut against Severn two years ago.
Also, Blue and I were discussing this last night...we decided it would be superb if Pe De Pano took Buentello down, and then began loudly proclaiming what he was doing as he did it, as though he was giving a seminar, or being recorded for an instructional video.

Hey, MSIA, I didn't knock him with the post. I just said the truth, he needs to make that move to 205 ASAP.

i agree with you man, and so does msia (i bet)
rashad himself knows he can't compete at HW...
which is kinda sad, cause what does that say about the other tuf HW's? they got beat down by an inexperienced LHW
jardine is another that should be at 205
i wish rob mcdonald had a good shoulder, in that little bit of seeing him fight, i saw alot of mma potential if he moves to a team suited for him, and that'd be team quest

I'm sure he'd go for it. I mean, if you'll ride a guy like a surfboard when he turtles up, why not just talk a bit while you tool your opponent on the ground? Far less risky.

Wrong, dumbass.
If posting here with Canario has taught you anything, it should be that Team Tompkins is the best fucking team in the world, and everyone there has some X-Men-esque mutant ability which allows them to be one of the biggest bad asses alive.
