...will be a superfighter against the American Top Team fighter Marcos "Parrumpinha" Da Matta.

http://www.greenwhaleproductions.com/parrumpinha.html

For those of you who aren't familiar with his credentials (or too lazy to click the link) I'll give them to you in bullet form

-BJJ Black Belt
-2005 ADCC competitor, losing to Uriah Faber in the first round
-Set ADCC trials record beating some scrub 44x0
-Passed Leohinzo Viera's guard in competition (a feat never to be replicated)

This is great news to me, I've been dying to see Bravo compete again, and Parrumpinha is as good a guy as anyone to get back into the mix. Bravo said something about wanting to do a superfight against the 65 kilo winner.....but he really hasn't done anything to earn that. So he'll have to deal with a loser in the elimination rounds.

I think Bravo is gonna have his hands full in this one, da matta has had trouble with strong top game guys like Faber and Pulver, but even then he caught Pulver in a tight enough triangle to nearly put him out. Against a guard puller like Bravo, I think he's gonna pass and put this one away on points. Anyways, November 12 (tommorow) I'll try to find the results to post.

I think this will look at lot like Bravo/Royler......minus the triangle

I hate on Bravo a lot but win, lose, or draw I will give him more respect just for competing. I'm a bigger fan of guys like David Jacobs and Robert Bihn who may not be ADCC level but get out there and compete because they know its good for them, rather than guys like Bravo who get one triangle on a good guy and try to rest on his laurels for the duration of eternity.

Yeah, can't argue there! I don't think I've seen a single thing about Eddie since then that hasn't mentioned the Royler match. I'm glad he's competing again. If he catches Matta from the bottom, I'll be damn surprised and impressed.

hahahaha, I wonder how Bravo would explain it away if Parumpinha beats him 22x0.

I've actually formulated a plan to try to tap Bravo out next time I go to LA. I'm gonna go to his school and let all his students tap me out (cuz he won't roll with new guys who look good) then ask him to roll. As he pulls half guard I'll do my damnest to tap him with Darces, kneebars, and heelhooks. If I catch him I'll go running around with my hands up talking about how revolutionary my new brand of jew-jeetsoo is

Technically it's D'Arce, after Renzo Gracie black belt Joe D'Arce. But Darce or Brabo are the generally accepted names (and spellings) for the choke

Bravo is officially never going to get to grapple again. God must hate him.

I've actually formulated a plan to try ...

So you're going to allow Joe Rogan to tap you or is Mr. Fear Factor just going to be that good!!! My prediction is that Joe will apply the twister on you.
