1 on 1 with Rhomez Brower
BK Exclusive- ![]() Rhomez Brower headlining for CQC In The Cage. In a city that supports the local military community, you don’t have to look far to find fans and practitioners of Mixed Martial Arts. One local team has been training and supporting the city and military. It is here at Team R.O.C. that we catch up with Rhomez Brower. Getting MMA back to North Carolina, especially in Fayetteville, is a big thing. Rhomez and others on his team now have a home in the local promotion Close Quarters Combat In The Cage. ___________ BloodyKnux – How long have you been practicing MMA? Rhomez Brower – Been at it for 7 years. BK – What style of fighting do you focus on? RB – I try to stay well rounded. I like to strike but train everything to be ready. BK –What would you say is your most memorable fight? RB – I fought a guy by the name of Crafton Wallace down in Florida. He was throwing kicks. I was blocking but I learned that kicking the arms makes your opponent drop them. BK – You have been at it for a while, is MMA a career you are wanting to continue in, or just a hobby? RB – It’s a career for me. I’d like to find some sponsors so I can just train and fight. BK – You are fighting at 170. Is this your preferred weight to fight at? RB – Yeah, I like 170. It is better for me since I usually walk around at 185. I have taken fights on short notice at 185, but I would rather fight at 170. BK – I love the team training in MMA. How is it training with your team? RB – We have a lot of talented fighters and it helps everybody get better. I see every style with my team, so there isn’t a fighter I haven’t seen. BK – But you prefer standing and throwing? RB – Striking and Ground and Pound. BK – With regards to small shows coming and going, why do you think it is hard for them to stay at it? RB – It’s hard to make the capital. I see CQC doing well because of their networking. BK – I hope they keep at it. We love having MMA around here. Is there anybody you would like to thank? RB – Yeah, my homie Stoke for introducing me to BJJ, Ses from Ring Skills, and Team R.O.C. BK – Thank you for your time and good luck to you!
