I don't remember it very well so I may disagree with myself if I watch it again, but I don't think it was clearly a 10-8.

I don't think it would've made much of a difference either way...

But Silva grabbing the cage once, and the ref breaking Brenneman/Silva up twice EXTREMELY QUICKLY did not sit well with me. I just feel bad for Brenneman, the odds were already stacked against him, the cage and the ref didn't need to shit on him too.

Because of the tournament.
I guess since the contract was initially for a 3 round fight with a 4th possible in case of a draw they did the same here.
Also, by keeping it at 3 rounds there is less risk for injury that would postpone the title fight even longer.

The first fight was close with a completely gassed DJ in the 3rd. The second fight wasn't. Ian McCall never got out of second gear.

Hopefully that ends the controversy. Johnson is the better 125'er. Let's move forward with the tourney.

I wish the UFC did a little research before they came to SoFla; cavernous venue, zero local fighters (no ATT or Blackzillian fighters), and a card that had no drawing power even for hardcore fans. The UFC just expects to show up in new markets and for people to pack the house on brand alone.

There are smaller promotions who are profitable in that market and they took no cues from them, very arrogant.

Sort of the same when they came to Virginia. I think Mike Easton and Amir Sodallah asked to be on the card so it had a little local flavor, but the under card really could have used some locals. They posted about the same attendance as the UWC used to, but they did it on a Tuesday.

Same when they sortof came to Utah before moving it to california. Of all the places to do a card on Sunday, Utah is probably the worst one. I know lots of mormons that would go to a UFC, but not on a Sunday. I mean seriously, who decided to do that one?

Also, the card wasn't that great and Vegas isn't that far from SLC, so it would help to do at least a decent, non free on TV card.

south florida isnt ever interested in anything. i remember when the marlins sold 324 tickets or some shit for a game. dont care the circumstances behind it. it was just sad shit to see. ufc should hand out bags of coke to everybody that attends.

But even with the over-saturation, still no UFC event at the Cow Palace - which hasn't hosted an MMA card of any kind since those "Malice At The Cow Palace" shows in 2006.

And worse yet, the Cow Palace is currently under the threat of demolition - no doubt so that a bunch of condos or still another bland shopping plaza can be built thereon.

We already lost Bay Meadows Racetrack out here recently. We simply cannot afford to lose the Cow Palace.

Only the UFC can save it.

And I just can't resist: Let the main event be Rashad vs. The San Francisco Treat, Jake Shields, who is now at middleweight. It can be Rashad's middleweight debut.

Also note my current post count. That's in honor of Rashad!
