NCAA BASKETBALL

The 2005 NCAA basketball season has kicked off and gone relativley under the radar for the moment. Obviously not much matters until March, but who do you guys think will be strong this year? Any surprises? A couple top 25ers have gone down already.

Beyond Duke, Texas, and UCONN, I have trouble figuring out who are the legitimate teams to beat.

Adam Morrison is gonna lead the 'Zags proper. The game with Michigan State last night was hot fucking fire.

that was definitely an epic game. I'm not sure why, but I fucking hate Gonzaga. They are definitely for real this year, and MSU looked tough as well. I thought Izzo's head was going to explode at the end of that game.

Does anyone have any info on Villanova? They are ranked #4, and I don't know much about their team this year.

Also, North Carolina seems to be getting hosed pretty hard after losing everyone to the NBA. Will Roy be able to be rebuild?

let the record show I'm not actually expecting this thread to gather much steam until March, but it seemed right to have one thread for all things NCAA Basketball related.

i'm saddened, the last cohorts from my high school days are all gone. i got to see rashard lewis, daniel ewing, and tj ford all play in high school (ironically, since my school was five minutes away, i almost went to see bellaire play. but decided their emeka okafor/john lucas III led squad was unimpressive). the longhorns are going to be staggering with a healthy aldridge, too bad i never got to watch any of them

great ending to the Uconn/Gonzaga game. Uconn won with a jumper at the buzzer. Maryland rebounded nicely from the Gonzaga loss with wins over Chaminade and Arkansas. I dont expect much out of the terps this year but they should make the NCAA's providing DJ Strawberry stays healthy

AH Basketball Season. Usually I could give 2 shits about it but with this years complete football misery I am actually ready for some hoops. We got a new coach this year (Bruce Pearl) and he seems to be doing things the right way. Anyway we are 4-0 after beating some jobbers. The real maesuring stick will be when we travel to Texas next week. We have no delusions of winning but if we play them close I will be happy. I really just want us to make the tournament in March.

And not that I really give a shit but the Lady Vols pwn as usual this year.

I think JJ Reddick is one of the more easy-to-hate college hoops players in recent memory. He also strikes me as a guy that would actually cry if he was fouled hard enough. He's a goon's wet dream.

we've rebounded nicely from the two ass-handings duke and tennessee gave us. beat memphis at their place and currently playing villanova very well. very good defense, but man our offense cant keep turning into a glacial And 1 Mix Tour tryout. swing the ball you bastards

very hard fought game on both ends but texas prevails. in the last 12 days we've beat the #3 and #4 ranked teams and won two conference games by more than 20 points

Tonight is a big test for us at LSU. If we win that game that will make us 13-1 3-0 in the SEC and we will have to get into the top 25.
