Waiting for the confirmation of the Pride (that might put him face to face against Wanderlei Silva), Ricardo Arona is training in Niter?i (RJ) with an eye in a historical bout. Arona believes that the fight will be really different from the last one. He does not want to talk about his strategies as well. Check out now the complete interview with Arona, only at TATAME.

Is everything right for you to fight Wanderlei Silva on December 31?

I have been waiting for an answer. I'm still dealing with some things and its right, I will confirm it.

Wanderlei says this time he will not respect you...

Always the same talk. He likes to talk about that. he will submit me. To be honest, he does that to promote himself.

Tell me about your strategy to defeat Wanderlei.

Now will be different because it's a super-fight. I don't know how it's gonna be. May be totally different from the other fight, but we will only know at the time. He is saying that will submit me. I just want to do my own game.

This will be the fight of your life?

The first fight was the awaited one, was the first contact. But this fight will have the same importance, the belt will be in game and I know I can get it. If I get the belt, my condition inside the Pride will change and I will have the possibility to fight again Maur?cio Shogun and Quinton Jackson, who crossed my way.

What has changed to you after your victory against Wanderlei in the semifinal of the Pride GP of medium?

I'm sure that increased my responsibility, but I knew I could win him that night and I know that now the heads of the category are always facing each other.

How are your trainings?

I have been training everyday, but I didn't go to Brazilian Top Team yet. I'm taking care of my physical part and of some old injures. But this is ok now. I'm felling well and I am sure that I will be fine there.

There is something about Arona....you know like the fact he doesn`t like to train, surf all days, goes to BTT like twice a month and do some light sparring before matches with Filho and their students in some other school.

Anyways, I hope he takes the title away from Silva, not because I dislike Silva but because I hate to keep watching the same champion over and over again.

Doesn't that tell you how much better Arona is than Silva right there? The fact he doesn't train nearly as hard as Silva and totally dominates a man who claimed to be in the best fight shape of his life? Hopefully this next fight retires Silva and his confidence for good. My dream would be for Arona to choke him out, and then laugh at his limp carcass. End this controversy for good.

I wouldn't mind seeing a changing of the guard either, just to shake things up a bit. I think Arona's proposed title defenses would be entertaining fights.

I had no idea he was lazy when it came to training, there is definitely no sign of that come fight time.

Silva wont be able to submit him. Thats just silly.

Arona makes silly excuses after fights which are generally quite ammusing but in the interviews he seems a cool guy.

I cant understand the hating at all.

Just last night I watched his PRIDE 28 fight when he held the choke for longer than needed while the ref tried pulling him off (and for no good reason that I could tell). I hope this jerk gets knocked on his butt 10 seconds into the fight.

Arona better move his as if he wants the title . Silva will not just give the belt away and he is more than capable of winning this one . Arona must not underestimate Silva even though he won the last fight . i just hope they both get in the ring 110 % fuck up each other .

i realy dont care who wins but if Arona gets the win Silva will have to fight some good as fighters to gett back on track . and that is something to look forward to .

Me too. I know he juices but you need to work out too. he has a 6% bodyfat ratio I heard. he cant be that lazy. Also his grappling skills are awsome which suggests he trains hard there too.

I think its probably mostly rumour and he maybe takes a little more time of than some.

Its like when he screamed in Silvas face. Had Silva done that after beating him everyone would have been laughing there asses off. Shit, Silva even admitted that him and Shogun would work the fight if they got to the final together and no one seemed to give a shit.

Chris Brenned did it to stevenson because Ted Williams was calling him all teh time and threating him before the fight.

At least in Royce's case he had reason to hold it on. Knowing Brennan, he probably did too. Arona just seemed like a jerk as he held it while the ref tried to pull him off.
