I must be the only person in the world who really likes Mayorga. I don?t think he should be taken quite so seriously and just think he adds some colour to the current boxing scene.
Although ?fatty? might have a slight advantage at 162lbs, I think the fight will probably come down to who has the most left. If I had to say one I?d go with Mayorga. |

Mayorga is good at hyping fights, knocking people out and getting knocked out. All elements of fight that fans want to see. Vargas just looks angry all the time, I think he still might be pissed he lost to Oscar.

This fight is so irrelevent.
Vargas hasn't been the same since Trinidad crushed him, and Mayorga hasn't been the same since Trinidad crushed him. Actually now that I think of it, Mayorga has never been anything special but a loud mouth, disrespectful punk who got lucky with Forrest the 1st fight. Forrest, I thought clearly won the rematch. Either way, while this fight might be a entertaining slugfest, it will do nothing for either fighters career as they both would get blasted by any legit contender. |

You seem to forget there's a lot of money to be made 'getting blasted by the legit contenders' if you're Ricardo Mayorga. A win over Vargas and using his promotional behaviour before fights against the likes of a Mosley or Cotto..... would earn him some nice crust. |

"Aqui tengo to gordo, cabron!" ahahahaha, he even had Mayorga laughing, that was truly great. BTW I think I'll be rooting for Mayorga.

These guys were meant for eachother...in fact, I have a hard time differentiating between the two. Any fighter that weighs in with a heater on their lips and a beer in hand is alright in my book.

Vargas will kick his ass. I don't care how irrelevant this fight may be. Should be a good one.

I think Vargas will pick him apart. While he's not nearly as good a boxer as DLH, he still has a good amateur background and that seems to be enough to kick Mayorga's ass...unless your name is Vernon Forrest.

true. Vargas doesnt have the temperment or patience to be that kind of fighter. this is why this is a good match up.

Awesome, the polar opposite of Winky/Hopkins. Still doesn't mean it'll be all that great, but that also doesn't mean that I won't watch it.

I hope Vargas rapes him.
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=6ab_1184240560 Classic shit: Controversial Nicaraguan Mayorga was goading Vargas from the off by repeatedly calling him 'fatty', while Vargas responded by grabbing his crotch, gesturing to Mayorga and shouting: 'Here's your fatty'. |
