Four picks in McFadden just selected by the Raiders. So far I like the new time set up. It seems to be moving along nicely. No surprises so far!

Woohoo. Chiefs take Dorsey. Nawlin's was willing to trade this year's 1st, 2nd and an 09 1st. Can't say I wouldn't have pulled the trigger, but I'm glad we got one of the best DTs in years.

Ok, McFadden and Russel make for a young offense... now can the O-Line keep the defenses from hitting behind the line.
Can't say I am upset at Oakland's pick, I just wish they selected a new owner first. ![]()

NE made a great pick, considering it's what they need most.
Also, I'm happy with the Raiders pick of Mcfadden.

I like McFadden going to Oakland. If he performs well then the Raiders have a RB that provides the explosive threat, they haven't had that since maybe Kaufman (Not so sure about a Garner or Wheatley). All I hope they adress is the......O LINE.
I like Mendenhall and Sweed going to Pittsburgh. Mendenhall provides a nice dual threat with Willie Parker not to mention Davenport if you wanna call him the power back. Sweed teams up nice with Ward nicely too.

Me too. Good luck with Matt Ryan. *snicker*
The Chiefs got good value with their other two picks, G Branden Albert and CB Brandon Flowers. Hopefully both will be starting next year.

i give the rams a B so far. Chris Long will make an impact. Not so surwe about Donnie Avery. Bit of a stretch early in round 2 when they could have got phillip merling possibly

Even if Ryan is just mediocre, it's okay. I'm sure you've heard all the rhetoric about Atlanta needing more than just a good player with that pick, so I'll spare you. Dorsey is a speed-rusher. Well, the guys he's going to be rushing are a lot faster and a lot stronger than the guys at Ole Miss and Arkansas in the SEC. Plus the whole thing with ankle and knee injuries and the busted leg...I'll take a mediocre qb over an injury prone DE any day. The Dorsey pick just reminds me of Greg Oden in the NBA. The kid had never set foot on an NBA court and people were proclaiming him to be better than Bill Russell. Dorsey has never played a snap and he's an immediate impact player on defense. Either way, it'll take a few years to find out if either one of them are worth what they'll sign for. One season alone won't make or break them. I'm mostly happy with Atlanta in the draft so far. I think they reached on Baker, and could have used those two 2nd round picks to grab an OL and a CB, but grabbing Lofton was a nice pick. If he can contribute at all at inside linebacker, his value goes up exponentially. Brooking keeps getting shoved into the middle linebacker spot because of depth issues, but he's much more comfortable playing at one of the outside linebacker spots. This frees him up to move to his natural position. Three picks in round 3 for Atlanta, so I'll see what they do. Hopefully they go for some help in the secondary and/or tight end.

Saints got Ellis so I'm happy, Kinda wish we could have traded back up into round 1 and taken Kenny Phillips before the G men got him but o well I guess. Jags had a hell of a draft, getting Derrick Harvey and Quinton Groves is gonna be huge for that team. Both guys are big, strong, fast, and have high motors. I had them ranked #3 and #4 out of the Dlineman. Groves recorded the fastest 10 yard split every by a Dlineman. Chiefs had a really nice draft as well. Pittsburgh did great, although they could have used some more Olineman. Detroit did terrible. Although draft day grades the day after, or even a season after, are pretty much useless. Three years from now we'll know how everyone did

Buffalo got a DB and big receiver, they really needed both.

Under Bellichik, they've always been built from the defense out so notwithstanding what a few of the commentators have been saying about Brady needing better protection, the defense needed an injection of youth. |

Yeah, it would have been nice to see my Seahawks take Merling. Overall we met most of our needs.

The vikings did good to trade their first round pick. I also like Booty in the 5th.
Can compete with Jackson and make him work to keep the QB job. I don't even know why I'm still a fan of the vikings , they're so different than when I started liking them, not long after both LA teams left at the same time. I think it's more a sign of being stubborn than being loyal but whatever... |
