UFN 19 Prelim Spoilers
Ryan Jensen vs. Steve Steinbeiss
Round 1 Steinbeiss opens the scoring with a quck jab. He throws a high kick that Jensen easily avoids. Jensen counters with a left hook. Steinbeiss answers with a flurry of shots that leave Jensen covering up against the cage. Jensen rushes forward and body locks his opponent to the mat. From half-guard, Jensen grounds and pounds with punches and elbows. With two minutes left, Steinbeiss gets his guard back. Jensen stands in the guard, dropping elbows and more punches. Steinbeiss pushes him away with his feet and tries to get to his feet. Jensen jumps into a guillotine choke but he can't get full guard. Steinbeiss looks to be fine, but referee Gary Ritter thought he was out. He went to check his right arm and Steinbeiss appeared to give him the thumbs up but Ritter jumped in to stop the bout at 3:56 of the first round -- much to the consternation of Steinbeiss, his corner and the crowd. Off to a rousing start!!!

BROCK LARSON VS. MIKE PIERCE
Round 1 - A touch of gloves starts the action. Pierce shoots in early, but Larson sprawls with his back to the cage. Pierce persists, and he throws a few knees and footstomps inside. Pierce finally earns the takedown, but Larson immediately stands back up. Pierce keeps the lock and elevates Larson, slamming him down. Larson works back to his knees, then his feet, but Pierce will not release the hld and dumps Larson back to the floor. Larson rolls to his right, then works to his knees with his back against the cage. Pierce throws some inside knees as Larson kneels and dumps Larson again to the floor. Larson again rolls to his right and looks for a kimura, but Pierce's left arm is tucked tight. Two minutes remain, and the crowd is restless. Pierce's smothering style earning him points, but not crowd favor. Referee Tom Jones sees just enough action to keep the fight where it is. Larson lets go of the kimura, scrambles to his feet and throws a flurry of punches that mostly miss. Larson throws another flurry, but Pierce backs away. A left hand scores, and another flurry follows as time expires. Good finish by Larson, but Pierce earns the round on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9. Round 2 - Larson throws a jab, but Pierce immediately closes the distance again. Larson sprawls out and stands with his back to the cage. The pair trades knees inside, then Pierce backs away with a punch on the exit. Pierce throws a jab, but eats a counter. Pierce scores with a inside leg kick. A quick clinch causes a scramble, and Pierce eventually wrestles Larson to the floor. Larson sits with his back against the cage, and he tries to stand halfway through the round. Pierce stays close and sucks up the legs to put Larson back on the canvas. Larson tries again to stand, but Pierce keeps his arms locked around the legs and pulls i back to the floor. Larson briefly latches on to a kimura, but Pierce pulls away. Larson stays on his back, and Pierce briefly kicks his downed opponent before engaging on the floor. Pierce throws a few right hands to the body as time winds down. It's another round for Pierce on the MMAjunkie.com cards, but the crowd boos at the process. Round 3 - A touch of gloves opens the final frame. Larson unleashes his hands, and a few stun Pierce as he moves backward. This time it's Larson controlling the clinch, and Pierce is backed against the cage. Pierce works the over-under and circles off the cage. It's a familiar position. Larson throws a few knees inside, and Pierce answers with more footstomps. Two minutes in, and Larson may be running out of time. Larson looks to the left arm for a standing kimura, but Pierce feels the advance and elevates his opponent, dumping him to the floor. Larson holds half-guard underneath. Two minutes remain. Larson works to full guard, then to his knees. Pierce covers him like a wet blanket, and as Larson tries to stand he's dumped back to the floor. Larson tries again to work back to his feet, but ends up on his tail. Crowd calls for a stand-up. Larson tries to do it on his own but winds up slammed again to the floor. A fan's cry of "You can cuddle at home" earns a laugh from the crowd. Time runs out on Larson. Both fighters looks frustrated as they return to their corners, and the crowd boos a final time. MMAjunkie.com sees it as a clean sweep for Pierce, and all three judges agree. Mike Pierce def. Brock Larson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). fuckin weak

JUSTIN BUCHHOLZ VS. JEREMY STEPHENS
Round 1 - A confusing touch of gloves. Buchholz throws a right kick that Stephens catches and counters with straight rights. Buchholz tries it again, though Stephens counters again. Buchholz lands his own big shot with his hands, and the two are off to a rousing start. Things settle a bit one minute in. Stephens lands a low kick. Buchholz scores with two consecutive 1-2's, then a front kick, then a slapping outside low kick. Stephens leaps in with a knee that buckles Buchholz. A series of rapid-fire punches put him all the way to the floor. Stephens tries a guillotine from the front headlock position but releases. Buchholz scrambles up, and we're just two minutes in. The pair trade kicks. Buchholz tries a series of right hands, but Stephens answers with his own. Stephens traps Buchholz against the cage, and a ferocious attack of punches and knees is unleashed. Buchholz weathers much of it, but the onslaught is relentless. Buchholz finally drops, and Stephens pounces. A few more shots follow on the ground, and referee Kevin Nix calls a halt to the action to check a large cut over Buchholz's right eye. The ringside physician calls a quick halt to the contest, and Buchholz is dejected. UFC president Dana White is livid at cageside, but a replay shows a deep, deep gash. Exciting fight that unfortunately ended early. Jeremy Stephens def. Justin Buchholz via TKO (doctor's stoppage - cut) - Round 1, 3:23.

C.B. DOLLAWAY VS. JAY SILVA
Round 1 - UFC newcomer Silva, not lacking confidence, walks to the cage with a Skeletor mask. Referee Leon Roberts starts the action, and Silva chases Dollaway with his hands down. Dollaway throws a few slapping kicks, and after a high kick misses, Silva charges in. The blows mostly miss, and Dollaway shoots off the cage with a successful takedown attempt. Silva works hard to maintain half-guard as Dollaway tries to advance. Silva rolls out, and is briefly in a guillotine attempt. Dollaway releases and looks to strike. Dollaway scores with a kick to the body, then he shoots in again. It's successful, but he works only briefly from Silva's guard before leaping back to his feet. Dollaway continues to throw kicks on the feet, then he shoots in with a double. Silva sprawls, but Dollaway simply overpowers him to the floor. Silva works a closed guard, though his head is trapped against the cage. One minute remains. The closed guard keeps Silva safe, but there is little for him to offer on offense. Dollaway postures, landing a few short blows before backing away. Silva stands and rushes in with a few crisp punches and a leapin kick, but he is quickly dumped to the floor as time expires. MMAjunkie.com sees it clearly for Dollaway, 10-9. Round 2 - Silva is breathing heavily as the second frame opens. Silva leaps in with a right hand, though Dollaway counters with a big kick to the body that echoes throughout the arena and earns a smile from "The Doberman." Silva lands his own flurry, and Dollaway is in trouble. Silva pounces, but Dollaway weathering the storm. Dollaway clinches and works to top psoition as Silva falls to the floor. Silva looks for a kimura from the bottom. Dollaway's left arm is extended, but he's able to maintain control. dollaway moves to mount, and Silva rolls. With two minutes remaining, dollaway works from the back. dollaway looks for the rear-naked choke. Silva tries to turn into it, and he escapes once before falling back into the hold. dollaway has a body triangle securely fastened and his right arm around Silva's chin. Silva tries to remain calm and keep his chin tucked. dollaway adjusts and squeezes, but Silva works free. dollaway maintains the back position and continues to look for the choke as time winds down to less than one minute. Silva looks calm on the floor, turning to his corner for instruction. dollaway tries again for the choke, and winds up in mount as Silva tries to escape. Dollaway opens up with punches as time expires. Silva feeling the love from the crowd and waves his hands for more as he returns to his corner. Entertaining round that MMAjunkie.com sees for Dollaway, 10-9. Round 3 - Silva opens with a flurry that lands. Dollaway instinctively shoots in, eating a knee in the process. Silva tries to take Dollaway's back, but Dollaway wrestles free, scrambling into Silva's open guard. Silva returns to the kimura, and Dollaway's right arm is in trouble. Silva can't finish the move, and Dollaway drops in a few knees before passing to mount two minutes into the round. Silva scrambles free and winds up in side control, landing a right hand as he pushes into the position. Dollaway quickly gains half-gaurd,a dn Silva wraps his left arm around Dollaway's neck. There's no leverage, and Silva backs away, forcing Dollaway to stand. Dollaway tries a lazy kick, and Silva lands a leaping knee. Dollaway again shoots in and pushes Silva to his back. Silva rolls to stand, but Dollaway rolls with him and maintains a front headlock. Dollaway pushes forward into mount, and he'll finish the fight there. Very entertaining fight. Dollaway is exhausted, though he should have earned the win despit dropping the final frame. MMAjunkie.com sees it 29-28 for Dollaway. All three judges agree. C.B. Dollaway def. MIKE PYLE VS. CHRIS WILSON
Round 1 - Referee Dan Miragliotta starts the action. After a brief feel-out process, Wilson shoots in, pressing Pyle to the cage. Nothing there, and Wilson backs away. Wilson slips on a kick, but Pyle can't reach him. Both miss with flashy spinning kicks. Jabs are traded, and Pyle hoots in successfully. Wilson works an open guard from the floor two minute into the round. Pyle postures and works punches to the body, and Wilson tries to keep him close with a closed guard. Wilson briefly controls the left arm, looking for a triangle. Pyle stands, avoids upkicks and falls back into Wilson's guard. Wilson rolls to his right, but Pyle prevents any attack. One minute remains, and the two are at a stalemate. Pyle lands a few more punches as time winds down. Wilson returns to his feet, and the round ends in a clinch. MMAjunkie.com sees it for Pyle, 10-9. Round 2 - Pyle opens the second with a low kick. Wilson answers and mixes in a few punches as well. Wilson clinches up and pushes Pyle to the cage, but he spins free, ducks under a punch and brings Wilson down with a double-leg. Wilson pulls full guard and after looking for a submission attempt tries to pull away. Pyle stays on his opponent and trips him back to the floor. Wilson maintains half-guard halfway through the round. Wilson is on his right side, but his back is against the cage, giving him few options. He is able to gain full guard, though his head is against the cage. Wilson rolls into a slick armbar that briefly looks like trouble. Pyle pulls free of the hold and winds up back in top position. Miragliotta has seen enough and stands the two for the final minute-plus. The two come together in the center of the cage, and Pyle looks for an anaconds choke. It's not there, and he releases. Wilson unleashes a flurry as time einds down, and Pyle simply absorbs the shots to the body. Pyle tries for a takedown, but he doesn't have the energy he did early in the fight. It's a closer round, but MMAjunkie.com sees it for Pyle, 10-9. Round 3 - Wilson shoots in immediately, again pushing Pyle to the cage. Wilson releases, and the pair trade missed jabs. Wilson throws a low kick and Pyle answers with an overhand. Wilson narrowly misses with a high kick, then spins Pyle with a low kick. Pyle leaps in with a left hand. Slow pace two minutes in earns some jeers from the crowd. Pyle tries to attack with his hands, but Wilson shoots in. Pyle sinks his left hand around Wilson's neck as he falls, securing the guillotine. Pyle squeezes, the effort visible on his face, and Wilson is forced to tap. Mike Pyle def. Chris Wilson via submission (guillotine choke) - Round 3, 2:15. cantwell stann 3 is next and last.
