-Mark Hominick vs. Brian Caraway

R1 – After a brief feeling out process, Caraway shoots a double-leg takedown and puts Hominick on his back, immediately looking to pass guard, but Hominick defends well with his butterfly guard. Caraway changes tactics, standing in guard and dropping down right hands, more than a few finding their mark. Caraway continued to attack, but Hominick attempted a sweep, which Caraway defended, but he left his arm in and Hominick latched on for the fight ending armbar.

Mark Hominick def. Brian Caraway by Submission (Armbar) at 3:48, R1

-George Roop vs. Eddie Wineland

R1 – Roop obviously has the height and reach advantage, but Wineland consistently cuts away at the reach with his ducking overhand right, a couple of which rocked Roop, sending him staggering backwards. Roop is searching for an opening, but Wineland is doing a good job staying out of range, moving in at opportune moments, consistently landing the overhand right. Roop lands a couple low kicks, but nice Ali-esque head movement from Wineland.

MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Wineland.

R2 – Roop keeps trying to find his range, but Wineland keeps bobbing and weaving, throwing terrific counter punches that are landing. Wineland’s speed is visibly wearing on Roop. Roop tries a spinning kick combination that misses, then eats a hard right hand from Wineland for his trouble. Still moving well defensively, Wineland seems to be missing a lot in the second half of the round, but Roop isn’t landing much either, his mouth agape.

MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Wineland.

R3 – Still showing good head movement, Wineland tries to establish his jab, but can’t really get it going and goes back to the overhand rights, missing with most, but then lands a straight right that drops Roop. Roop quickly recovers and gets back to his feet, Wineland chasing him. Roop throws a knee that doesn’t really land, but it slows Wineland down. They’re back in center ring, trading punches, but most of them are missing their mark. Both continue searching for that one big shot, but can’t find it as the round closes out.

MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Wineland.

Eddie Wineland def. George Roop by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27), R3

-Will Campuzano vs. Coty Wheeler

R1 – Wheeler shoots early, but Campuzano sprawls out. Campuzano is holding center ring, looking comfortable, finding the range with his hands. Wheeler is moving in and out with low kicks. Wheeler keeps moving in, but is eating some hard punch combinations. Campuzano launches a flying knee, but Wheeler catches him with a punch to the body in mid-air. Campuzano keeps coming with jumping knees, but Wheeler catches one and takes him down, but misses with the leg lock. They get back to their feet and start trading, but Campuzano still seems to be landing the more accurate and harder shots. Wheeler appears to be bleeding from the bridge of his nose. Wheeler catches another kicks as the round is winding down, but eats several shots to face before going to his back. Campuzano lands some brutal ground and pound before the bell sounds.

MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Campuzano.

R2 – The round starts off with a kick to the groin by Wheeler. The referee calls time for Campuzano to recover. Wheeler misses with a spinning backfist, but lands a couple knees to the body. They clinch up and Wheeler jumps to a guillotine choke, pulling Campuzano to the ground. Campuzano remains composed and escapes, immediately landing some hard ground and pound shots before allowing Wheeler to stand back up. Wheeler lands a hard low kick that moves Campuzano and follows with a right hand. He misses with a spinning back kick and Campuzano takes him down, landing a brutal right hand then following with another ground and pound attack. Wheeler goes for a submission but they break apart and stand. Wheelers face is quickly becoming a crimson mask. Campuzano lands a straight right that staggers Wheeler and ends the round with successive head kicks, but Wheeler won’t go down.

MMAWeekly scores the round 10-8 for Campuzano.

R3 – Wheeler lands an overhand right, but eats a right hand-knee to the body combination. Wheeler looking tired, but showing lots of heart. Campuzano landing two to every one of Wheeler’s shots. Wheeler squinting with his right eye; definitely having trouble seeing out of that eye. Wheeler gasping for air with his mouth wide open. Campuzano maintaining center ring and landing short combinations, almost at will. Wheeler shoots, but Campuzano defends and lays down a battering of hammerfists. Wheeler persists and gets Campuzano to his back, but Campuzano escapes and they’re back on their feet. Wheeler shoots and eats a knee from Campuzano, who follows with several more jumping knees to end the round. Gutsy performance by Wheeler, but it was all Campuzano as the fight wore on.

MMAWeekly scores the round 10-8 for Campuzano

Will Compuzano def. Coty Wheeler by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)
