NO KICK, NO LIFE ~FINAL~
![]() Tokyo on Saturday, October 29, 2005 Notable fights: 60kg Riki Onodera (former Japanese featherweight champion) vs. Anuwat Kaewsamrit (Rajadamnern and Lumpinee stadium featherweight champion) 74kg Toshio Matsumoto (Japanese middleweight champion) vs. Ryan Simson (WPKL world middleweight champion) Welterweight Samkor Kiatmontep (former Lumpinee stadium lightweight champion) vs. Masaki Kazuya (ranked third at welterweight) 54kg Hinari Fukatsu (second ranked at bantamweight) vs. Joseph Fadi (Dutch bantamweight champion) Exhibition match Kozo Takeda (former Rajadamnern stadium welterweight champion) vs. Rumina Sato (Shooto Pacific-Rim Lightweight Champion) This will be Onodera's retirement fight and he'll have his hands full as he squares off against one of the best P4P fighters in the world today. He made his debut in 1992 and held the Shin Nihon title from 1996 to 2000. Injuries have been keeping him out of the ring and he's been running his own gym. He wanted his retirement fight to be a fitting one and wants to leave the fight game with no regrets. He's a skilled kicker. ![]() Because I'm feeling complacent, courtesy of Kaewsamrit.com: Quote:
Not much to say about Samkor that hasn't been said already although he's not as destructive of a force as he once was. When he started competing (on AJKF events) in Japan regularly he racked up a winning streak, blowing through everyone and breaking Satoshi Kobayashi in half in the process. He lost to Shiratori (AJKF lightweight champion) in the AJKF LW tournament final. Kazuya's expected to make a bid for the Japanese title next year. He holds a record of 9-4-4 (1KO). Fukatsu's a spirited fighter and never fails to bring the excitement, when fighting international fighters he's usually matched against Thai (lost to Anuwat back in the day) but is now up against a strong punching Dutch fighter. He's 20 years old and belongs to the same gym as Fikri Tiyarti. Last edited by Kamatari : 10-09-2005 at 06:33 PM. |

nice write up of the event. ive been hearing of the Takeda vs Sato match for awhile now. great to see it will be happening. other fighters i recognize on this card are Kazuya and Matsumoto. i await hearing how they do in their respected matches. but i still will not see this event just because they dont get bootlegged. will this be on Japan tv?

The Takeda bout is just an exhibition though and that Kazuya is a different one. But yeah interesting match ups for Matsumoto and Kazuya. I think Samkor still has enough left in the tank to comfortably beat Kazuya and both Matsumoto and Simson haven't looked that great recently so it could be considered a toss up. |

god i feel sorry for Onodera, he is really barking up a large tree with this fight. Best of luck to him he will need it, and Matsumoto has got his hands full as well that is a pretty serious fight for a comeback fight. And what is Kozo Takeda and Rumina sato ? ? ? Is it Muay Thai exhibition or mma ? ? ?

Thanks Kam, looks like an fun show..and jeez, Kozo is a busy man lately..mixing it up in the grapple too huh? Let's hope he shows a bit more than Masato did against Uno.
