The temperature was raised to 1200°C within 12h, and then lowered to 500°C at a rate of 10°C/h. The ampoule is removed, cooled, and inserted into a thicker diameter rubber tube, breaking the ampoule so that the metal ingot can be safely removed. The copper-rich Cu—Mn—Si matrix was dissolved in 8 mol/L nitric acid, and the octahedral crystals remained. These crystals were washed with water and dried to obtain MnSi2 crystals with an edge length of 2 mm.
